[Bug 989355] Re: Unable to create Node: timed out

I thought of something you can try - if you change the cobbler settings
to not manage dhcp and set your external dhcp up manually, it might
work. Please let me know.

Hi Robie,

Thanks for the info. I already remove and purged the package installation
for the ubuntu and also remove the package for the manual and restarted the
system. then I try to reinstall the puppet using apt-get install then error
appears(sorry I already deleted the logs and error messages), I will try to
reproduce the error and will send you the info once the error is related
to the Ubuntu (not related to the app)

Thanks for the response regarding to this issue

2012-05-14 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report. This package failure looks like being caused
by a corrupted file system. Please start the "Memory check" from the
boot menu. If that runs successfully, please start the desktop cd. Hold
right-shift key after the bios checks to get to the grub menu and run
"Check disc for errors" option. If the file system corruption is
serious, the safest option would be to reinstall your system.

2012-05-14 Thread Robie Basak
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.

It looks like the error you have experienced is related to a conflict
between the packaged installation of puppet and a custom manual
installation of puppet you have in /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8/puppet.

Thus this problem appears to be on your system and not a bug in Ubuntu.
Accordingly I am marking this bug as Invalid in Ubuntu.

If I am mistaken, please do explain and change the status back to New.

** Description changed:

+ SRU Justification
+
+ [Impact]
+
+ If an authentication fails after preauth was requested, all subsequent
+ preauth-required authentications in the same Kerberos context will also
+ fail. This breaks password change when credentials have expired, and
+ also breaks try_first_pass functionality in Kerberos PAM modules.
+
+ [Development Fix]
+
+ New upstream release. Updated in Debian. Pending sync in Ubuntu.
+ Verified in Ubuntu manually.
+
+ [Stable Fix]
+
+ Upstream patch cherry-picked. Debdiff attached.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ testcase.sh attached.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ Low: one line patch for missing initialisation written by upstream.
+
+
+ Original report by Russ Allbery:
+
MIT Kerberos 1.10 (including pre-releases and betas) exposed a bug in
the tracking of preauth mechanisms such that, if an authentication fails
after preauth was requested, all subsequent preauth-required
authentications in the same Kerberos context will also fail.

This breaks password change when credentials have expired, and also
breaks try_first_pass functionality in Kerberos PAM modules.

Upstream has fixed this problem in their mainline with commit 25822.

[Bug 988520] Re: After failed auth, subsequent auths in same context fail

2012-05-14 Thread Robie Basak
Russ: thanks for the test case! I've turned this into a script that
doesn't depend on an existing Kerberos realm. But the script does rely
on git.eyrie.org as the current Debian pam-krb5 doesn't appear to have
the test that we need.

I've used the test case to verify that this bug is fixed if I build and
install the latest Debian 1.10.1+dfsg-1 in Ubuntu by hand. Thus this bug
will be fixed in the development release of Ubuntu as soon as we resync
from Debian.

I've also prepared an SRU for precise, test built it, and tested both
upgrade and fresh install using the test case.

[Bug 998918] [NEW] openvpn openssl.cnf file missing

2012-05-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Using Ubuntu 12.04
Package openvpn (1.0.1-4ubuntu5)
There is no .cnf file for the 1.0.1 version of the software.
The problem is the openvpn package needs a openssl.cnf file for the correct
version of openssl which is 1.0.1.
As it does not have one, it defaults to openssl.cnf which does not exist.
Creating a link openssl.cnf >> openssl-1.0.0.cnf seems to solve the problem.

source ./vars indicates the file is missing

I created a link named openssl.cnf >> openssl-1.0.0.cnf which seems to
solve the problem

[Bug 955510] Re: failed attach leaves stale iSCSI session on compute host

2012-05-14 Thread Tom Hite
Hi,

I am convinced this bug is partially fixes, though not completely. I can
recreate the issue very simply:

1) As a first point, let's use KVM/libvirt/Essex release on Ubuntu 12.04
(up to date as of 5/11/2012);

2) Create a volume (pick a size);

3) Attach that volume to a VM, supplying, /dev/vdz as your attach;

On my hardware (Dell) that creates precisely the bug given above. Logs
are below. Those are the last nova-computes that will occur until it's
restarted.

After this log, virsh *will* respond to virsh list--all, but nova-
compute is no longer responsive. If I thereafter stop nova-compute, and
restart, it will never start because at that point libvirt is hung (even
virsh cannot connect, though it could prior to the nova-compute
restart).

As for attaching under normal circumstances (pick /dev/vdc for your
first attach), and all goes well. However, I do not (re)raise the
'stupid device' thing, for instance /dev/vdz, just to raise this bug.
I'm working with another team using HP Proliant DL380G6 with BIOS v.
P62, and it exhibits precisely the error in *all* cases of /dev/vdc, but
not using higher device names (e.g., /dev/vdx) -- in that case, the VM
has only /dev/vda at that point.

In any event, this is a pretty bad situation.

[Bug 990742] Re: slapd fails to upgrade: requires libsasl2-2 (>= 2.1.24) installed

2012-05-14 Thread Jacob Smith
I was finally able to get the half upgraded system fixed using the
proposed package.

After that was running for a bit I went ahead and upgraded another server in my
cluster running the same services.
I used the proposed libsasl2-2 package and the upgrade completed start to
finish without a hiccup.

So on 2 servers using the proposed packaged solved the issue without any
side affects.

Thanks!

This looks to be related to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-

  /cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=665473#10) in that bug says:

This looks like a repeat of bug #628237. However, slapd 2.4.28-1.1/amd64
  has a dependency on libsasl2-2 (>= 2.1.24), ...

Looking at the package info for slapd:

  Package: slapd
  Priority: optional
  Section: net
  Installed-Size: 4064
  Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers
  Original-Maintainer: Debian OpenLDAP Maintainers

  Architecture: i386
  Source: openldap
  Version: 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4
  Replaces: ldap-utils (<< 2.2.23-3), libldap2
  Provides: ldap-server, libslapi-2.4-2
  Depends: libc6 (>= 2.15), libdb5.1, libldap-2.4-2 (= 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4),

We can see that it's not requiring a newer libsasl2-2.

  [Impact]
slapd's maintainer scripts make use of utilities like slapcat and slapadd
which require a running slapd server, however, the relationship between slapd
and libsasl2-2 packages do not take into account a binary incompatability
introduced with 2.4.28-1.1. As a result, libsasl2-2 is not upgraded until
after slapd, slapd fails to start (with error msg cited in the bugs), and
maintainer scripts fail during upgrades with a debconf error like:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/965636/

  [Development Fix]
The issue has been sorted in Debian and in Quantal with the recent merges. A
thorough explanation of the fix is available at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=628237#163 . The solution is
to update cyrus-sasl2 with:

How about someone confirming this to upstream, in upstream bug log,
and suggesting the fix to be pushed for 3.6.6 (if not done already:
I'm not in position to check upstream's BTS right now).

[Bug 496922] Re: Ubuntu snmpd package doesn't include all net-snmpd modules

2012-05-14 Thread Adam Stokes
Hi,

Could the people affected please explain what is not working? Using
'exec' is deprecated and should be replaced with 'extend'. Was this
option tried and you still failed to see results?

Also attaching some example configurations using the 'extend' feature
would be helpful in pinpointing this issue.

Thanks,
Adam

problem.

I did notice doing a wbinfo -u on our 50k+ users AD will crash winbind,
but that is a separate issue I believe.

[Bug 994752] Re: lxc-start-ephemeral's use of dhcp lease table is fragile

2012-05-14 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
The attachment "bug-994752-lxc-ip.debdiff" of this bug report has been
identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-
sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can
review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in
fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag
'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not
flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu-
sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this bug report.

[Bug 994752] Re: lxc-start-ephemeral's use of dhcp lease table is fragile

2012-05-14 Thread Francesco Banconi
Please find attached a diff for fixing the bug.
This patch introduces the *lxc-ip* Python script, initially developed in
lp:lpsetup, and used to retrieve the ip address of a running container.
It also updates *lxc-start-ephemeral* to use lxc-ip and an increased number of
connection retries.
The diff is against precise-proposed: I hope the diff format is correct.
