[Bug 1048008] Re: tgt needs restart to find LUN

2012-09-12 Thread James Page
Dave

I've not been able to reproduce your issue using a quantal KVM instance.

Please could you run:

sudo tgtadm --lld iscsi --mode target --op show

when you see the issue - hopefully this will tell us a bit more.

Thanks

[Bug 1017978] Re: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw)

2012-09-12 Thread Didier Roche
Ok, it mostly looks good here. Here are a small feedback on the packaging
itself:
I don't understand the manual ldconfig call in librados2.post{inst,rm}. It
should be added automatically isn't it (didn't see anything in changelog or
README explaining it)? then, that will enable us to remove the 2 files as the
rest is just DEBHELPER call.

[Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot

2012-09-12 Thread Don mylastname
Hi all

this is a real doozy.

I need to run 10.04 because it has userful mutiseat and can boot the
same partition on a single disk but can't on my fake raid. gpt
partitioning on the raid because it is 4tb.

I can boot 12.04 (kde) on the fake raid fine but get the same error as
above when trying to boot to the raid partition. Have tried dmraid -ay
as suggested above and have tried introducing 120s delay in boot params
but still no successful boot. Have also copied the early grub commands
from the 12.04 boot and have tried using the device name rather than
uuid but nothing does the trick.

It seems that the disks in the raid are both recognised as being raid
members but the partitions are not available to the boot.

Can anyone offer a work around?

Don

[Bug 556167] Re: vmbuilder uses parted to create disk images, which leads to broken sector counts (cannot use grub2 on disk images created by vmbuilder/parted)

2012-09-12 Thread geaplanet
Hi! Two years later this bug continues. What is finally the right
solution. Pendrives partitioned with parted are impossible to use to
install on it linux distributions. GRUB2 don't find free space enough
because grub2 tries to be installed on the first track, but the first
track have only 32 sectors, not 63!

Actually, it starts on 2048 and grub has space enough for being
installed. Grub2 have a --force option that I have used sometimes on
Debian, but on Ubuntu doesn't work. It complains about that I have to
use -f or -s options using grub-install, but they don't work.

[Bug 1017978] Re: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw)

2012-09-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ceph - 0.48.1-0ubuntu2

---
ceph (0.48.1-0ubuntu2) quantal; urgency=low

  * Remove manual calls to ldconfig (LP: #1017978):
- d/lib{rados2|rbd1|cephfs1}.post*: Dropped - all these do is call
ldconfig which will automatically be done.
- d/rules: Let dh_makeshlibs do its magic with postinst/postrm
scripts but ensure that the .so's in ceph package are excluded.

I've updated the Ubuntu packaging do deal with generating
postinst/postrm scripts for all shared libraries a little more
elegantly.

Changes also submitted back upstream (the master source of packaging) -

2012-09-12 Thread Andreas Kuntzagk

On an NFS3 mounted directories with quota enabled, the quota command

[Bug 1047262] Re: race condition on startup between samba and cups

This bug was fixed in the package samba - 2:3.6.6-3ubuntu3

---
samba (2:3.6.6-3ubuntu3) quantal; urgency=low

  * Decouple startup of smbd from cups (LP: #1047262):
- d/samba.smbd.upstart: Revert changes made in 2:3.6.6-3ubuntu2.
- d/samba.reload-smbd.upstart: Add upstart task which reloads smbd
once cups has started, ensuring that smbd startup is decoupled
  from cups.
- d/rules: Install reload-smbd upstart configuration, don't try to
  start on install.
  * Install winbind upstart configuration file with --upstart-only option
for consistency with samba package.

[Bug 1049674] [NEW] awstats : incompatible-java-bytecode-format with OpenJDK 7 as default-jdk

2012-09-12 Thread James Page
Public bug reported:

During a recent rebuild test it was detected that awstats builds Java bytecode
which is only compatible with Java = 7.

The default-jdk in Ubuntu Quantal has been changed to OpenJDK 7 and all
packages that Build-Depend on default-jdk are being tested to ensure that
they produce bytecode which is backwards compatible with earlier versions
of Java.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JavaTeam/Java7Default contains more details on how
to resolve this issue and make sure that the Java bytecode built by this
package is compatible with earlier Java runtime environments.

Note that lintian in Ubuntu Quantal also contains a experimental check
which can detect this problem (incompatible-java-bytecode-format). Enable
this by using the -E flag when running lintian.

2012-09-12 Thread Steve Langasek
* Install winbind upstart configuration file with --upstart-only option
for consistency with samba package.

Heh, this part is a wrong change. The upstart-only flag is for upstart
jobs which aren't replacing init scripts of the same name.

[Bug 1049908] [NEW] Upstart control of lxc container instances

2012-09-12 Thread Christian Kampka
Public bug reported:

This change proposes that upstart takes care of running and managing lxc
container instances instead of having them run as daemons.
This has some advantages:
 - lxc containers can benefit from upstart supervision, eg. respawn can be
easily enabled, and parallel job execution
At the moment with serial execution, stopping the lxc service can (worst
case)
take up to n times $LXC_SHUTDOWN_TIMEOUT, n being the number of containers
running.
Having upstart manage instance shutdown avoids this problem.
 - Administrators can write upstart jobs that run on lxc container
startup/shutdown of a specific container.
Consider for example a job that enables transparent port 80 routing once a
container names squid comes up.

I have not found any possibility to assign the instance kill timeout
dynamically so for now it's fixed at two minutes.

I explicitly did not add the 'respawn' stanza to the .conf file, I just
mentioned it as a possible and valid use case. The merge would still
require to enable respawn yourself though if you want that so the
default behavior should be the indifferent to the current state.

Ideally '-- /sbin/init --verbose console=/dev/console' would work
(passing the output to /dev/console which is a symbolic link to
/dev/lxc/console, which is a bind mount of the proper devpts pty).

[Bug 1044837] Re: vmbuilder should accept an empty destination directory

2012-09-12 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug.

Adding such a check seems to complicate the existing check for little
real gain. If /srv/kvm/mysql is a mount point, is there a reason why
you could not use '/srv/kvm/mysql/mysql' as the target directory? (If
your use case isn't easily solved that way, then I'm open to it, but
otherwise I prefer not to)

@Jamie,

could you try the qemu-kvm package in ppa:ubuntu-virt/virt-daily-

can either try a last-minute jump to 1.2,0, or hopefully I can figure
out which commit fixed it.

[Bug 1049986] [NEW] Openstack dashboard's Ubuntu theme needs to be re-enabled and refreshed.

2012-09-12 Thread Adam Gandelman
Public bug reported:

During the Folsom dev cycle, the patches to Horizon that enabled the
Ubuntu theme were disabled. Now that its Folsom is hitting RC1, the
theme should be re-enabled and refreshed against the current dashboard.

Now that python-compressor is in use, I believe it is no longer
necessary to patch the horizon code base to allow the alternate CSS and
images, so we can probably drop those packages and handle it all with
configuration changes.

[Bug 1049987] [NEW] lxc-cloned container breaks if source is later destroyed

2012-09-12 Thread Scott Moser
