[Bug 1017978] Re: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw)
Ok, it mostly looks good here. Here are a small feedback on the packaging itself: I don't understand the manual ldconfig call in librados2.post{inst,rm}. It should be added automatically isn't it (didn't see anything in changelog or README explaining it)? then, that will enable us to remove the 2 files as the rest is just DEBHELPER call. ** Changed in: ceph (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ceph in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017978 Title: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1017978/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
Hi all this is a real doozy. I need to run 10.04 because it has userful mutiseat and can boot the same partition on a single disk but can't on my fake raid. gpt partitioning on the raid because it is 4tb. I can boot 12.04 (kde) on the fake raid fine but get the same error as above when trying to boot to the raid partition. Have tried dmraid -ay as suggested above and have tried introducing 120s delay in boot params but still no successful boot. Have also copied the early grub commands from the 12.04 boot and have tried using the device name rather than uuid but nothing does the trick. It seems that the disks in the raid are both recognised as being raid members but the partitions are not available to the boot. Can anyone offer a work around? [Bug 556167] Re: vmbuilder uses parted to create disk images, which leads to broken sector counts (cannot use grub2 on disk images created by vmbuilder/parted)
Hi! Two years later this bug continues. What is finally the right solution. Pendrives partitioned with parted are impossible to use to install on it linux distributions. GRUB2 don't find free space enough because grub2 tries to be installed on the first track, but the first track have only 32 sectors, not 63! Actually, it starts on 2048 and grub has space enough for being installed. Grub2 have a --force option that I have used sometimes on Debian, but on Ubuntu doesn't work. It complains about that I have to use -f or -s options using grub-install, but they don't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/556167 Title: vmbuilder uses parted to create disk images, which leads to broken sector counts (cannot use grub2 on disk images created by vmbuilder/parted) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/parted/+bug/556167/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1049908] [NEW] Upstart control of lxc container instances
Public bug reported: This change proposes that upstart takes care of running and managing lxc container instances instead of having them run as daemons. This has some advantages: - lxc containers can benefit from upstart supervision, eg. respawn can be easily enabled, and parallel job execution At the moment with serial execution, stopping the lxc service can (worst case) take up to n times $LXC_SHUTDOWN_TIMEOUT, n being the number of containers running. Having upstart manage instance shutdown avoids this problem. - Administrators can write upstart jobs that run on lxc container startup/shutdown of a specific container. Consider for example a job that enables transparent port 80 routing once a container names squid comes up. I have not found any possibility to assign the instance kill timeout dynamically so for now it's fixed at two minutes. ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Branch linked: lp:~kampka/ubuntu/quantal/lxc/upstart-instance -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1049908 Title: Upstart control of lxc container instances To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1049908/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I see one problem with that. Directly calling lxc-stop outside of the container, or half in the container will cause upstart to restart it, which isn't quite what we want. I explicitly did not add the 'respawn' stanza to the .conf file, I just mentioned it as a possible and valid use case.
