Issue:
A fresh installed maas with latest updates will not have maas-enlist shows up
on the maas menu.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Fresh install maas with latest update to 12.04.1
2. Install the necessary packages:
$ sudo apt-get install maas
$ sudo apt-get install maas-dhcp
$
The dkms package was disabled as its not compatible with the 3.5 kernel;
this decision was taken under the assumption that the upstream kernel
module was feature comparable with the dkms provided kernel module.
As this appears not to be the case then we need to focus on:
1) Making the dkms

upgraded through various lifecycles of Openstack which may explain it (a
more recent installation that I looked at is set to 'utf8').

OK I've figured it out.
We had a DB issue in Essex to do with the projects table. I had to do a
mysqldump and then reimport. This would've then had the DB at Essex but
with character set for the database set to the default in mysql which is
latin1. Thus missing the 077 migration which sets the

Hope next year (13.04) MaaS and Juju becomes STABLE.
Right now, it is useless. I just wipe out all the data I have. No more MaaS /
Juju for me.
