EXPECTED:
If you run test.php (attached ) in command line or as Apache module the
expected output is binary data smaller than 40byte.

BUG:
On my system it outputs 32kbyte, and contains memory dump, PHP source code, PHP
variable values etc.
It looks like similar to a buffer overrun/flow.

I've downloaded PHP5.3.10 source code. Could the following cause it?

php5-5.3.10/ext/openssl/openssl.c line 4716:
if (data_len  0) {
EVP_EncryptUpdate(cipher_ctx, outbuf, i, (unsigned char *)data, data_len);
}

If data IS nothing (empty), it does not call EVP_EncryptUpdate()
function.

But, live/block migration does not migrate DHCP host information. We
need a fix for that one as well.

[Bug 1099875] [NEW] multipathd ignores dev_loss_tmo and fast_io_fail_tmo settings

2013-01-15 Thread Tore Anderson
Public bug reported:

My device section of /etc/multipath.conf contains the following (I'll
attach the complete file in a bit):

fast_io_fail_tmo 3
dev_loss_tmo 2147483647

This is also visible in the output from multipathd -kshow config, so
it's being correctly parsed. However, the settings appears to be
completely ignored by multipathd, as the corresponding sysfs settings
doesn't get updated:

$ grep . /sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-*/*tmo
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-0/dev_loss_tmo:30
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-0/fast_io_fail_tmo:off
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-3:0-0/dev_loss_tmo:30
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-3:0-0/fast_io_fail_tmo:off

These are the kernel's defaults. I can easily set them manually:

$ echo 3 | tee /sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-*/fast_io_fail_tmo
3
$ echo 2147483647 | tee /sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-*/dev_loss_tmo
2147483647
$ grep . /sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-*/*tmo
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-0/dev_loss_tmo:2147483647
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-0/fast_io_fail_tmo:3
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-3:0-0/dev_loss_tmo:2147483647
/sys/class/fc_remote_ports/rport-3:0-0/fast_io_fail_tmo:3

However, this won't survive a reboot, and since SAN paths may appear at
any time, adding the above to /etc/rc.local is also not a good way to
fix it.

I've also attempted to move the settings to the defaults section and the
individual path sections. No change in behaviour.

This bug prevents dm-multipath from quickly moving I/O away from a
recently failed SAN path, instead stalling all I/O for 30 seconds. This
defeats the purpose of using multipathing in the first place, which is
to have highly available I/O access so that production can continue
uninterrupted even if parts of the SAN fabric fails.

The setting works on RHEL6, btw.

[Bug 1099900] [NEW] rados parsing error with hostnames in mon_host

2013-01-15 Thread David Britton
Public bug reported:

In /etc/ceph/ceph.conf, if I set hostnames in the mon_host variable and
separate them with spaces, the parsing algorithm breaks down. The
expectation is that all three of these cases should work. Once
hostnames are introduced in the mon_host line, spaces are no longer
allowed anywhere or parse errors happen.

[Bug 1099793] Re: php 5.3.10 openssl_encrypt empty data

2013-01-15 Thread Robie Basak
Confirmed, and I've found the fix. This is
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=61413 fixed in http://git.php.net/?p
=php-src.git;a=commit;h=270a406ac94b5fc5cc9ef59fc61e3b4b95648a3e and
released upstream in 5.3.14.

This is due to i remaining uninitialised in the case of input data of
zero size.

I also think this is a security issue, since it results in the
encrypted data containing arbitrary memory contents which could
subsequently be leaked to a web user. This could contain things like a
mysql password or other secrets.

The attached debdiff fixes this bug. I've tested that it builds and
upgrading fixes the issue. Adding ~ubuntu-security-sponsors and removing
importance for re-triaging by the security team.

[Bug 1099947] [NEW] driver unable to connect to CyberPower UPS using usbhid-ups driver

2013-01-15 Thread Simon Déziel
Public bug reported:

I hooked my new CyberPower UPS: CP685AVR-G on my Lucid server and got
this error:

Jan 15 12:06:33 xeon upsd[5441]: Can't connect to UPS [cyberpower]
(usbhid-ups-cyberpower): No such file or directory
  Jan 15 12:06:38 xeon upsmon[5445]: Poll UPS [cyberpower@127.0.0.1] failed -
Driver not connected

After trying many things, I found
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=488368 that hint me in the
right direction. The required change was to rename the udev rule like
this:

  mv /lib/udev/rules.d/{5,6}2-nut-usbups.rules

Now, everything works well, without requiring user = root in
/etc/nut/ups.conf because the udev rule now ensures the device file is
owned by the group nut:

[Blueprint servercloud-r-juju-appserver-support] Juju support for application server technologies (Django, JEE, RoR, etc)

2013-01-15 Thread Antonio Rosales
Blueprint changed by Antonio Rosales:

Whiteboard changed:
  User Stories:
As a sysop, I want to deploy a web application container on a cloud node.

As a developer, I want to create a Juju charm to deploy my web
application on any compatible container. Example of compatible
container: Django app = Django container; JEE .war = servlet container
(e.g. Apache Tomcat) or JEE app server (e.g. JBoss); JEE .ear or .jar =
  JEE app server (e.g. JBoss)

As a sysop, I want to deploy a web application onto a compatible
  container node.

As a sysop, I want to define a named data source in a web app node and
add a relationship to a database node for that data source.

  Risks:
Properly gathering best practices from developer communities, and integrating
that knowledge into the framework charm itself.

  Test Plans:
- CharmTesting should be leveraged here to exercise a framework charm with
traditional workloads, and to specifically repeatedly exercise the individual
functions of the framework charm.
+ CharmTesting should be leveraged here to exercise a framework charm with
traditional workloads, and to specifically repeatedly exercise the individual
functions of the framework charm.

Framework charm development will need a base set of application charms
to test the functionality of the framework itself. There could also be
an “exerciser” framework charm that specifically and exhaustively tests
each function of the framework (where a ‘normal’ application charm may
not exercise all the functions or do it repeatedly).

- Release Note:
+ Release Note:
Release not may not be applicable here, but we should blog about framework
charms so folks now they are available to use.
-

  --- Discussion at UDS ---

  Why is this important
  - Application servers come before Apps
  - Private/Enterprise apps are more numerous than public apps
  - Deployment needs to be easier/simpler because testing suffers when
deployment is difficult
  --- jitsu import/export for above ?
  - Connect named resources to app without app specifically knowing about it
  - Scalability as needed

Improving framework/infrastructure service charms on Juju mailing list:

- List of possible technologies to take into account:

- Django
- MongoDB
- Postgres
- MySQL
- node.js
- rails/rack-esque
- memcacheD
- varnish
- redis
- rabbit
- Pyramid
- Sensu
- Logstash

-

ea42eb1f7866fed0e843257ce05e34503fd0129c in teh argonaut stable branch.
I just did a quick test and it appears to be okay on master. Can you
confirm that there were problems on anything other than v0.48.2?
