[Bug 1022612] Re: private instance IPs can only reach public IPs in other regions, not the same region

2013-05-29 Thread Tom Haddon
From http://docs.openstack.org/folsom/openstack-compute/admin/content
/associating-public-ip.html:

Traffic between VMs using floating IPs:

Note that due to the way floating IPs are implemented using a source NAT (SNAT
rule in iptables), inconsistent behaviour of security groups can be seen if VMs
use their floating IP to communicate with other virtual machines - particularly
on the same physical host. Traffic from VM to VM accross the fixed network does
not have this issue, and this is the recommended path. To ensure traffic
doesn't get SNATed to the floating range, explicitly set dmz_cidr=x.x.x.x/y.
x.x.x.x/y is the range of floating ips for each pool of floating ips you
define. This configuration is also necessary to make source_groups work if the
vms in the source group have floating ips.

This might help...

Thanks for submitting this bug.

Is there any chance this install is in a chroot?

In any case, could you re-try to see whether sysvinit version 2.88dsf-

I note other errors related to invoke-rc.d in the logs:

 stop: Job failed while stopping
invoke-rc.d: initscript apport, action stop failed.
invoke-rc.d: release upgrade in progress, error is not fatal

This message about release upgrade in progress, error is not fatal is
not part of the /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d that comes from the sysv-rc
package. Does anyone know where it comes from?

Seems this error message comes from ubuntu-release-upgrader, which has
its own local copy of invoke-rc.d. Perhaps this just needs a reupload
to import the newer version, perhaps a more intrusive fix is required.

That maas.log from jhujhiti is packed with OAuthUnauthorized exceptions.

[Bug 1153077] Re: rabbitmq queue fills up and celery stops executing tasks when upload_dhcp_leases is done every minute (by default)

2013-05-29 Thread Raphaël Badin
jhujhiti told me that the celery worker is eating up all the cpu and
most of the memory.

In celery.log, I see: [2013-05-29 10:41:28,386: INFO/MainProcess] Task
provisioningserver.tasks.upload_dhcp_leases[11a33416-5a33-4530-8fdf-
e0825b62d616] succeeded in *451.886018991s*: None

I thought that it was a long time to upload the dhcp lease file but then
jhujhiti told me that the lease file is 26M.

[Bug 1016895] Re: smbd crashed with SIGABRT in dump_core()/setgroups being passed a -1 group is causing crashes.

2013-05-29 Thread roemer2201
Just in case someone stumbles over this:
I just installed a fresh ubuntu 12.04.2 64bit server and I installed samba in
the ubuntu installer.
Unfortunately this seems to install a buggy version. After spending two hours
of search I just tried to remove samba and it told me, that it is not
installed... so I just installed it and now the bugfixed version seems to be
installed and is working.
