I haven't used MAAS for about 6 months precisely because of this issue. It may have been fixed in the interim. This problem goes away if the timedelta in /usr/share/maas/celeryconfig_cluster.py is changed from 1 minute to 5 minutes. For the moment at least the system I had tried to install MAAS on is in use. I may look at it again during the winter break. ** Description changed: In a saucy MAAS environment, I had machines allocated to the admin user that were deployed using maas-cli (not using juju). These were perfectly running machines. However, while trying to use juju I noticed that a 'juju destroy-environment' put the machines that were 'allocated to admin' back to a 'Ready' state. These machines were not being used / controller by juju, but rather by maas-cli. This means that juju destroys all of the machines regardless of whether they are being used by juju or not. +1 on the backport. I'm a co-founder of a non-profit. Our websites have to default to SSL to protect the privacy of our clients. Since this is a production webserver, we can only use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as that's what our IaaS vendor offers us for Ubuntu/Debian distros. After more than an hour I noticed that it was still sitting there doing nothing. I killed the install process and ended up in this bug notification process. I realized later that I probably needed to shut down the MythTV backend before trying to run the updates, so that may be all this is about.
