[Bug 1278466] Re: [FFe] ceph firefly stable release

2014-03-24 Thread James Page
0.78 uploaded to trusty:

ceph (0.78-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release:
- d/control: Add xfslib-dev to BD's.
- d/*: Sync relevant packaging changes from upstream.
- d/p/*: Drop upstreamed patches.
- d/p/modules.patch: Mark libcls_user.so and libec_jerasure.so as modules.
- d/ceph.install: Only install libec_jerasure.so.
  * d/ceph-test.install: Install test binaries to /usr/lib/ceph/bin; they
really don't need to be installed on the default path.
  * d/{ceph|radosgw|ceph-mds}.lintian-overrides: Add overrides for intentional
difference in naming and structure between upstart configurations and
init.d scripts.

 -- James Page james.p...@ubuntu.com Sat, 22 Mar 2014 18:27:40 +

I tested upgrade from emperor and use with cinder and glance over the
weekend as well as running a continual IO test on a three node cluster
for around 16 hours with no problems.

I've not closed out this bug so we can continue to track 0.79/0.80
between now and release.

Indeed the package now imports kazoo in several places, but that's an

[Bug 1296614] Re: package postfix 2.11.0-1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: underprocessen installerade post-installation-skript gav felkod 75

2014-03-24 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu. Specifically, you have a misconfigured Postfix installation
since you have set an invalid relayhost parameter.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than
configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us
to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu.

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1291535] Re: 'Unable to retrieve OVS kernel module version' when _not_ using DKMS openvswitch module

2014-03-24 Thread Francois Eleouet
Commit f8e49358daee625da435cd5dc4836d20792368e4 [1] seems to responsible
for this bug, as it changed kernel module version check: It used to only
warn the user if it wasn't able to retrieve module version, whereas it
now forces the agent to exit.

I disagree.

A) it's a feature request and
B) only seems to happen often with an Android client. And I don't
think that large portion of Ubuntu users uses Ubuntu via SSH from
   Android clients.

[Bug 1296835] [NEW] status_of_proc lacks a -p in /etc/init.d/pptpd

2014-03-24 Thread Roberto Suárez Soto
Public bug reported:

The status target in /etc/init.d/pptpd doesn't work, because the call
to status_of_proc lacks a -p before $PIDFILE. Example:

# /etc/init.d/pptpd start
 * Starting PoPToP Point to Point Tunneling Server pptpd

[ OK ]
# ps aux | grep pptpd
root 16211 0.0 0.0 10684 680 ?Ss 17:51 0:00 /usr/sbin/pptpd
root 16305 0.0 0.0 18236 904 pts/0S+ 17:51 0:00 grep
--color=auto pptpd
# /etc/init.d/pptpd status
 * /usr/sbin/pptpd is not running

This happens because status_of_proc takes $PIDFILE as $DAEMON, and tries
to use the file /var/run/pptpd.pid.pid as source for the PID of the
program. Adding -p solves the problem.

The version tested is 1.3.4+27+gddb30f8-1ubuntu1. Output of lsb_release -rd is:
Description:Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
Release:14.04

[Bug 1296856] [NEW] Please update clamav to 0.98.1 for Lucid - Saucy in security/updates

2014-03-24 Thread Scott Kitterman
Public bug reported:

As discussed in the Ubuntu Security team meeting today, I think it would
be prudent to deliver 0.98.1 to all users and not just users of
backports. Both 0.98.1 upstream and the packaging for 0.98.1 seem to be
in a stable place where a general update would be appropriate. The
major reason to do this is that the current packages, 0.97.8, cannot use
all current virus definitions. You can see this in this excerpt of the
libclamav/others.h diff:

  * CL_FLEVEL is the signature f-level specific to the current code and
@@ -53,11 +55,12 @@
  * in re-enabling affected modules.
  */

-#define CL_FLEVEL 69
+#define CL_FLEVEL 76
 #define CL_FLEVEL_DCONFCL_FLEVEL
 #define CL_FLEVEL_SIGTOOL CL_FLEVEL

The packages for precise - saucy are unmodified from trusty. For
lucid, there are a few changes, notable removing use of dh-autoreconf
since it doesn't exist and the reconf would fail even if it did and
disabling LLVM on powerpc to fix the build (last upload we gave up on
powerpc since I didn't think of trying this).

php-json.

This all would be resolved if php-json were a dependency of php-common.

[Bug 1296996] [NEW] mysql-server-core-5.5 should include resolveip

2014-03-24 Thread Jelle Zijlstra
Public bug reported:

mysql-server-core-5.5 includes the mysql_install_db script, which uses
mysql's resolveip script. However, this script is not included in the
mysql-server-core-5.5 package, only in mysql-server-5.5.

This leads to the following (confusing) error message:

# mysql_install_db
Neither host 'devjelle2' nor 'localhost' could be looked up with
/usr/bin/resolveip
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct
hostname.
If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script

[Bug 1297012] [NEW] hyper-v: Manual partitioning formats /boot with ext2 file-system

2014-03-24 Thread Abhishek Gupta
Public bug reported:

Hi,

It appears that if users manually partition the disk, the /boot
partition is formatted using the ext2 file-system. This breaks certain
backup scenarios for Hyper-V. Is it possible to change the default
format for the /boot partition to ext4?

Please let us know and see attached image for more details.

[Bug 1297077] [NEW] juju-local should depend on cpu-checker

2014-03-24 Thread John A Meinel
Public bug reported:

When installing the juju-local package you should also get the cpu-checker
package so that we can probe for KVM support.
We could make it a Recommends instead of a Depends (because if it isn't there,
we just assume no KVM support), but it seems useful to have around.

This isn't really a bug in *juju* as much as it is a bug in Packaging,
so I'll try to target it appropriately.
