POST should work and is a lot easier to implement, I hope, if the Go

[Bug 1316556] [NEW] vmware: boot from image (create volume) is failing

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Nova fails to boot an instance from the image using create volume.

Run time environment details:
cinder is configured with VMDK driver
nova is configured with Vmware Vc driver

While nova is trying to provision a instance by creating the volume from
the given VMDK image by creating a volume and booting from it, it failed
to create the instance, though volume is created properly after given
amount of time. This failure is occurring especially when the volume
creation is taking more than 180 seconds.

Exception thrown by nova compute is: Volume f36bf0ce-ef0d-4200-b15b-

This is because DataSourceSmartOS.get_data() bails out if it can't find

[Bug 1257186] Re: memory leakage messages

2014-05-06 Thread Xarin
Problem persists on Solydx x86 based on jessie/sid.
Removing libpam-smbpass will indeed fix the problem, but I would like to keep
the functionality.
I am unable to use the pam-auth-update fix, I'm guessing this is an ubuntu
only thing.
Let me know if I can provide any other useful information.

That sounds like a regression, we certainly need to be able to fall back to
the old method of connecting if the server doesn't support proxying the
request.

Thanks, everyone. I don't believe anything in cgmanager fixed this,
so rather than mark it 'fix released' i'll mark it 'invalid' in the
'can no longer be reproduced' sense. If it happens again please do
reopen this.

[Bug 1316663] [NEW] Upgrade to 14.04 breaks apache2

2014-05-06 Thread halfbeing
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 Apache2 no longer works properly.

First of all it moved the document home from /var/www to /var/www/html
without warning. Obviously this was relatively easily fixed by moving
the documents.

However what has broken that I can't put right is that PHP is no longer
working. When I go to my Dokuwiki wiki I get served the raw PHP code
instead of the wiki pages.

[Bug 1316663] Re: Upgrade to 14.04 breaks apache2

2014-05-06 Thread halfbeing
I have now fixed the problem as far as it affects my own laptop. Somehow
PHP got uninstalled during the upgrade process. Reinstalling libapache2
-mod-php5 got things working again. Perhaps it got automatically
uninstalled because I had removed the Ubuntu version of dokuwiki after
it broke during my previous system upgrade, in which case I think that
makes this bug invalid.

[Bug 1310781] Re: bad bignum encoding for curve25519-sha256 at libssh.org

2014-05-06 Thread Omega Weapon
I've just come across a knock on effect of this bug when configuring the
Ubuntu SSH server for curve25519-sha...@libssh.org key exchange only,
and using the latest Debian package openssh-client to connect.

Because Ubuntu's SSH server version doesnt match 6.6.1, the Debian SSH
client disables curve25519-sha...@libssh.org completely, getting rid of
the (presumably) most secure algorithm available:

[Bug 1313450] Re: Unable to start vsftpd on Ubuntu 14.04 (Amazon/EC2) with default configuration

2014-05-06 Thread AC
I'm also having the exact same issue running vsftpd on Ubuntu 14.04 in
an Amazon/EC2 instance. Adding seccomp_sandbox=NO does not fix the
problem for me either.

Upgraded to vsftpd 3.0.2-1ubuntu2.14.04.1 that was just released on

[Bug 1316829] [NEW] remove /usr/bin/qemu alternative

2014-05-06 Thread Serge Hallyn
Public bug reported:

/usr/bin/qemu is currently an alternative automatically set up to point
to the 32-bit qemu-system-i386. The file /usr/bin/qemu did not exist in
precise. It has been again removed in debian, so remove it from utopic
and trusty.

If a user on x86-64 host runs qemu with a 64-bit iso, the resulting boot
failure will be very hard to diagnose. Therefore, it is better to simply
remove it as debian has done.
(Long term it would be nice to replace it with a wrapper program which runs the
right binary based on the running kernel.)

[Bug 1316812] Re: ubuntu qemu-kvm package attempts to start a service and fails

2014-05-06 Thread Serge Hallyn
Returning 0 if /dev/kvm does not exist after the modprobe would be ok,
so long as those users do nto want to have hugetlbfs mounted. Otherwise
we can simply guard the chmod with || true as we do the modprobe.

[Bug 1316872] Re: package mongodb-clients (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/bsondump', which is also in package mongodb-10gen 2.4.10

2014-05-06 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 782890] Re: no ping response on all hosts after upgrade

2014-05-06 Thread jhansonxi
This still occurs (at least with localhost) with BackupPC 3.3.0 on *buntu 14.04
(Trusty Tahr). The Ping6Path value is still undef by default. Workaround is
to set it to /bin/ping6 (or force it true for localhost):
