[Bug 1300367] Re: rsync 3.1.0 and 3.0.9 incompatibility

2014-06-20 Thread Nick Craig-Wood
I can confirm this problem.

It seems to be due to a miscompilation of rsync and the zlib library

https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10372

Trying the transfer without -z / --compress works fine.

The bug seems to show itself when transferring big files ( 1.5GB in my
case)

I think this should be fixed urgently!

[Bug 1242376] Re: reload php5-fpm crashes

2014-06-20 Thread Tom Fotherby
We ran into this bug while upgrading our servers from 12.04 LTS to 14.04
LTS. It is serious for us. When we deploy our app, we need to do
`service php5-fpm reload` so that the php opcode cache is flushed,
otherwise old files will still be served. Doing a `php5-fpm restart`
isn't a option as it does not handle existing connections gracefully.

We would really really appreciate for this bug to be fixed in the Ubuntu
repos. It is really not a good bug to have in a LTS release for folks
who run PHP. It will catch many people out.

[Bug 1325746] Re: dpkg-reconfigure doesn't work as expected

2014-06-20 Thread Scott Moser
Danieru,
  I just uploaded this fix.
An SRU team member will review it and release it into trusty-proposed.
After that, it needs verification and then will et into trusty-updates.

StableReleaseProcess is described in detail at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
You can help by verifying it when it *does* get into trusty-proposed.

[Bug 1311433] Re: REGRESSION: AttributeError: 'functools.partial' object has no attribute '__module__'

2014-06-20 Thread Stéphane Graber
Hello Julian, or anyone else affected,

Accepted maas into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/1.5.2+bzr2282-0ubuntu0.2 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1321885] Re: IMPI detection and automatic setting fail in ubuntu 14.4 maas

2014-06-20 Thread Hamed Hemmati
I am having problem with Dell servers too. Just like Juan I decided to
go back to 12.04 but ended up with JuJu just not working properly so now
I am back to 14.04 trying to figure out why the Dell servers don't get
their power type set. The only Dell server that did get its power type
set was poweredge 2950 all the other ones have issues for me. Even if I
set the power type manually they still don't startup.

[Bug 1324685] Re: gem file access problem

2014-06-20 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1321885] Re: IMPI detection and automatic setting fail in ubuntu 14.4 maas

2014-06-20 Thread Hamed Hemmati
I tried but I just had too many issues with juju and 12.04. So far the
only issue I have with 14.04 is the fact that some of my poweredge
servers aren't getting their power type set. Other than that juju seems
to work fine on the other ones.

I rather just get the power type issue resolved and take advantage of
the new maas features than go back to 12.04 and have to upgrade in 6
months.

[Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty

2014-06-20 Thread Serge Hallyn
Hi Matt,

some feeble attempts at that were made, but the result was deemed too
fragile. The safest option is to shut down the VMs, change the machine
type in the xml definition, migrate the shut-down images, and re-start
them in trusty.

2014-06-20 Thread Hamed Hemmati
Yeah I was able to bootstrap just fine on the dell server that got its
power type set. I haven't tested charms yet because I can't get any of
my other dell servers to startup since their power types aren't getting
set.

Juju has just evolved too much to be compatible with maas that comes
with 12.04.
