On Trusty with postfix 2.11.0-1, Postfix is configured to not use
chrooting anymore using its out-of-the-box config.
However, it still looks for saslauthd in the chroot'ed location:
/var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd
... rather than:
/var/run/saslauthd

I'm also curious about an update on this issue. I'm running 14.04.1,
Kernel 3.13.0-39-generic and LXC 1.0.6-0ubuntu0.1. 'strace' output of
open-scsi looks basically the same as above.

I've had this error since installing the Beta of 14.04 Server, upgrading
it periodically to current release.
Using Thomas' suggestion, I ran "sudo pam-auth-update" and unchecked
"SMB Password Synchronization".
