[Bug 1455097] [NEW] pm-suspend.log and pm-powersave.log not updated since upgrade to vivid
Public bug reported: I added a new script in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ that worked fine before the upgrade to vivid. I was wondering why it doesn't work and I find out that /var/log/pm-suspend.log is empty, and pm-powersave.log too (last logs from pm-suspend were on Apr 28, when I upgraded from utopic to vivid. The laptop suspends and wakes fine, it just seems that no pm scripts are run after suspend/powersave. [Bug 1443542] Re: curtin race on vivid when /dev/sda1 doesn't exist
Execution of blockdev --rereadpt simply issues a call to ioctl(BLKRRPART) which forces kernel to re-initialize its metadata. Kernel adds information about newly created partition here: http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v3.19.1/block/partition-generic.c#L269 You can see a call to kobject_uevent() which puts event to udev's queue. So to me it looks like udev settle should have all the information available. Only if blockdev succeeds though. We don't check its return code if I got it correctly. Another interesting point is that there are two popular ways to re-read the partition table: BLKRRPAR ioctl (used by blockdev) and BLKPG ioctl (used by partprobe). They are very different. While BLKRRPAR lets kernel know that partition table needs to be re-read, BLKPG tells kernel the exact partitioning layout (parted does this because it wants to have ultimate control over things). BLKPG may be more udev-friendly because parted-based tools are more popular. We may want to try partprobe instead of blockdev and see if it solves the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to curtin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1443542 Title: curtin race on vivid when /dev/sda1 doesn't exist To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curtin/+bug/1443542/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1444037] Re: juju-core 1.22.1 is not packaged in Ubuntu
I do not want 1.22.1 going into updates because there is a compatibility issue. Bug 1454829 is about a case were a 1.20.11 client cannot talk to an env bootstrapped with. 1.22.x. The certificate rules are different, preventing the client from talking. [Bug 1455281] [NEW] upgrade-software-version to BIND 9.10.2 Stable
Public bug reported: I currently love the 9.9.5 build that ubuntu has, but I've noticed there is a really important feature that I could be using that comes built in with 9.10.~, the EDNS client-subnet feature which for recursive resolving will pass the client's IP/subnet to the resolver which then if the resolver supports EDNS client-subnet feature, will be able to geo- locate the clients request properly. This is very important seeing as for instance if a user is located in China and wants to use DNS servers in Japan that utilize google dns's resolver for example. Google will think the DNS request is coming from the japan DNS server when in actuality the request is being forwarded from the Japan server to the client in china. If Google DNS looks up anycasting information for a domain and gets back a Japan server, the client would be getting a worse connection than if EDNS client-subnet passthrough was enabled in the Japanese servers BIND, which would then result in Google returning back a Chinese server closer to the client. I'm not very good with compiling and am requesting someone update the bind9 package kindly. :) Currently in the meantime I've upgraded ontop of 9.9.5 with compiling 9.10.2 with the following configuration: ./configure --enable-sit --with-tuning=default --with-gssapi=/usr --enable-fixed-rrset --with-pkcs11 --enable-seccomp --with-libtool --with-atf --with-openssl=/usr --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --sysconfdir=/etc/bind --localstatedir=/var --enable-threads --enable-largefile --enable-shared --enable-static --with-gnu-ld --with-geoip=/usr --enable-ipv6 --enable-filter- ** Affects: bind9 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: upgrade-software-version ** Tags added: upgrade-software-version -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455281 Title: upgrade-software-version to BIND 9.10.2 Stable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1455281/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
