[Bug 1508466] [NEW] empty monitor, serial, parallel with -curses with TERM=xterm-256color
Public bug reported: my (believed default) ubuntu installation has 'TERM=xterm-256color' when in a gnome-terminal. when i run 'qemu-system-x86_64 -curses' from that environment, the monitor and serial and parallel "consoles" do not have anything on them. Example: $ TERM=xterm-256color qemu-system-x86_64 -curses # hit 'alt-2' you'll nothing.k this should be the monitor # you can type 'quit' there blindly and it will do what you asked. # hit 'alt-3' and that shoudl be serial console. to see it working, just try: $ TERM=xterm qemu-system-x86_64 -curses # hit 'alt-2', 'alt-3', 'alt-4' and see it all working. Alternatively, running under 'screen' or 'tmux' or 'byobu' will set term to some other value ('screen') and that will work also. Easy workaround if you know it, but not if you dont. [Bug 1490110] Re: package lxc 1.1.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100
The original complaint appears to be: dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of liblxc1: liblxc1 depends on libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.9.14); however: Version of libdbus-1-3:amd64 on system is 1.8.12-1ubuntu5. The libdbus version being installed is higher than that. Note that that dependency is automatically added (it's not in debian/control). We could require dbus upgrade to happen before lxc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1490110 Title: package lxc 1.1.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1490110/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1508565] Re: maas uses 3.13 (hwe-t) kernel which does not work on IBM power
Some data: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12887493/ (same data is below, but for formatting the paste is nicer). The problem stated (and generally known) is that hwe-t kernels do not reliably boot on power8 in powernv ("bare metal" mode). There are at least 2 possible solutions to this problem: a.) fix maas to be able to set a subarch ('hwe-u') for enlistment and commissioning. b.) remove the 'hwe-t' stream data from existance and hope that maas then uses the 'hwe-u' product in its place. 'a' has been reported as to be fixed in 1.9, and thats great, but that does not help users for the short term. For 'b', this is still less than ideal for several reasons: 1.) hwe-t (3.13) kernels work fine on ppc64 kvm VMs If i were a user of maas driving ppc64 kvm VMS (PowerKVM or Ubuntu), then I'd be quite happy with 3.13/hwe-t which has support until 2019.04 . I'd much prefer staying on that supported kernel to the "interim kernel upgrade path" [1]. Ie, If I installed a hwe-u kernel that kernel is only supported for 10 more months (2016.08). If we remove that product, we'll no longer have a way of installing 14.04+hwe-t. 2.) If we remove the 'hwe-t' stream, we're essentially deleting a product on the server side and hoping that maas systems will follow that deletion. I'd hope that maas doesn't do that, as it would mean a error on the server side could completely wipe out installable systems on the target. The code i've written for mirroring streams does not delete products locally unless specifically told to. So, likely an existing user *still* has to do something manually to fix this problem. 3.) its not clear if this would work or not. Small amount of testing would get us an answer, but not clear yet, and I personally didn't understand how it happens in code. [Bug 1386637] Re: multipath shows non-mpath disks as being multipath
The 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.6 version of multipath-tools is available in trusty- proposed. We have verified that USB disks are no longer being incorrectly tagged as multipath in this version. We have also corrected the regression that caused 'multipath -l' to segfault previously. But we don't have affirmative confirmation that this new version won't cause regressions in the handling of failover paths, which is a concern because of the changes to the udev rules. [Bug 1508428] [NEW] nova image-list failing with SSL enabled on Juno
Public bug reported: I have a client setup with OS_CACERT set. All endpoints registered in keystone are https. I can query neutron, glance, cinder and keystone but the second and subsequent nova image-list always fails. I can 'fix' it by restarting nova-api-os-compute and one image-list will work but then failure again. [Bug 1490110] Re: package lxc 1.1.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100
I also get "ValueError: /usr/bin/python3.4 (deleted) does not exist" by starting with a Vivid cloud image, installing lxc and juju-local from the archive, and then do-release-upgrade -d to Wily. So this will happen to every Juju charm developer on upgrade, I think. No PPA required. Separate from this I got the original: initctl: Unable to connect to Upstart: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/upstart: Connection refused invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/lxc not found. when I upgraded my main machine to Wily just now. In fact the initctl: Unable to connect to Upstart: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/upstart: Connection refused was repeated all over the upgrade. I wonder if this only happens when the system was previously upgraded from an upstart-running system, and we have two bugs here? I think this should be Importance: Critical and needs to be fixed before Wily release as we don't want upgraders failing just because they were experimenting with charm development - and this reproduces entirely from the archive without any PPAs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1490110 Title: package lxc 1.1.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1490110/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1490110] Re: package lxc 1.1.3-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100
Oh, I'm sorry. In my reproducer the error visible on the screen was "ValueError: /usr/bin/python3.4 (deleted) does not exist" but apport reported DpkgTerminalLog with "invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/lxc not found." so I think they are just one bug.
