[Bug 1515615] Re: Disk quotas don't work in LXC containers
What do you mean by "not using real device"? The real lvm device is mounted into the container. However actually offering the device node into the container would not be a safe default. In particular, it allows the container admin to write nonsense onto the device node, feeding garbage into the in-kernel filesystem driver, and most likely either DOS or gain privilege on the host. If root in the container is trusted, then it should be possible to work this out, but frankly noone seems to have wanted this yet. There is probably an easier way to achieve what you want. [Bug 1311387] Re: add a small default innodb_buffer_pool_size
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we have to ship _some_ default, even if it is not the most appropriate in all cases. I think it's most appropriate to ship the default that upstream consider best, and for 5.6 it is 128 MB. This does mean that sysadmin intervention will be required to make mysql- server-5.6 work on a t1.micro instance, but I don't see any reasonable way around this (lowering innodb_buffer_pool_size would harm performance by default on more common mysql-server-5.6 deployments, AIUI). Having said that, I just noticed that you got a dpkg install error, which I don't think should happen. We need to look into failing to start the daemon more gracefully. ** Summary changed: - add a small default innodb_buffer_pool_size + postinst fails when installing on a low memory system ** Changed in: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Assignee: Robie Basak (racb) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-5.6 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311387 Title: postinst fails when installing on a low memory system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1311387/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1319362] Re: Update my.cnf keys for avoid shutdown errors
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I see three separate issues in your report: 1) Deprecation warning about key_buffer. This was fixed in 5.6.25-2 in Debian and the fix is included in the current 5.6.27-2 in Ubuntu. 2) Deprecation warning about timestamp with implicit default value. This is an upstream bug. For clarity I have created Launchpad bug 1516010 to track it. Let's use other bugs to track the above two issues as required, and keep this bug tracking your final issue: 3) Errors about /var/lib/mysql. It isn't clear to me that this is really a bug as opposed to a local misconfiguration. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community. Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu. If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Summary changed: - Update my.cnf keys for avoid shutdown errors + mysqld: Can't change dir to '/var/lib/mysql/' (Errcode: 2 - No such file or directory) ** Changed in: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Assignee: Robie Basak (racb) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-5.6 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1319362 Title: mysqld: Can't change dir to '/var/lib/mysql/' (Errcode: 2 - No such file or directory) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1319362/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
