[Bug 1081952] Re: squid 3.1.19 external_acl_type fail

2015-12-03 Thread Amos Jeffries
I think this bug is not valid.

The config does not meet the documented requirement that the script
interpreter be a *full path* to the sript interpreter, or helper binary.
"php" is not the full path to the PHP executable.

The helper is also closing its stdin communication socket to Squid
before sending any response back. When Squid receives that termination
signal, the helper state will be shutdown and ERR used in place of any
pending lookups.

[Bug 1520568] Re: All queries fails when 'google' is used: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

2015-12-03 Thread shankao
I tried libnss just now with version 3.21 and it fails consistently. I have
downgraded again to 3.19 to keep work going on...
To me, if it's not libnss itself, then it's some weird interaction with the
last version of it.

[Bug 1521931] Re: apparmor-profile-load returns 1 if apparmor not installed

2015-12-03 Thread Serge Hallyn
** Description changed:

+ ==
+ [ SRU Justification ]
+ 1. Impact: users with upstart and without apparmor have init jobs failing to
start
+ 2. Test case: apt-get purge apparmor;  apt-get install upstart-sysv; apt-get
install rsyslog
+ rsyslog will fail to start
+ 3. Regression potential: we only exit 0 at the end of the script - nothing
will change
+ in cases where apparmor is installed.
+ ==
+
  Environment:

  ubuntu 15.04 with upstart and without apparmor

  I tried to upgrade my ubuntu image to 15.10 and upgrading breaks on
  rsyslog:

  start: Job failed to start

  i checked dmesg and found this:

  [  525.832963] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078)
  [ 525.833007] init: rsyslog state changed from pre-starting to pre-start
  [  525.834464] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078) terminated with status 1
  [ 525.834639] init: rsyslog goal changed from start to stop

  so i looked in pre-start:
  pre-start script
  /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load usr.sbin.rsyslogd
  end script

  and then in /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load:
  #!/bin/sh

  [ -x /lib/apparmor/profile-load ] && exec /lib/apparmor/profile-load
  "$@"

  in my case where is no "/lib/apparmor/profile-load" file, so this
  scripts return 1, which breaks pre-start and breaks rsyslog starting

  I guess that if /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load script checks if file
  exists, it should return 0 in case then file doesn't exist

[Bug 1445616] [NEW] crmsh in vivid/wily/xenial is not compatible with pacemaker

2015-12-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robie Basak (racb):

pacemaker package in vivid was updated to 1.12 which provides a new
structure in CIB. However crmsh is still old which means

https://github.com/ClusterLabs/pacemaker/blob/Pacemaker-1.1.12/include/crm/cib.h#L31
contains 2.0 which result in cIb as

https://github.com/ClusterLabs/crmsh/blob/1.2.6/modules/cibconfig.py#L2103
I can confirm that regexp is wrong

Version 2.1.3 has a proper regexp
https://github.com/ClusterLabs/crmsh/blob/2.1.3/modules/cibconfig.py#L2136

Also, I can see that debian/control in pacemaker doesn't specify the minimal
version of crmsh which should be higher than 2.X
crmsh (>= $version_which_understands_cib2.0)

[Bug 1520568] Re: All queries fails when 'google' is used: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

2015-12-03 Thread dino99
Chromium settings:

chrome://settings (with libnss3  3.21-1ubuntu2)
-> HTTPS/SSL , Manage certificates :
 - your certificates : empty list
 - servers: Global Trustee -> untrusted; Google Ltd -> all untrusted

So if the latest libnss3 version is not faulty, then its a chromium problem,
not able to get the good certificates from at least Google Ltd

[Bug 1498637] Re: package libapr1:amd64 1.5.0-1 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

2015-12-03 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1511735] Re: libnl: fail to bind() netlink sockets

2015-12-03 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Which Ubuntu releases and libnl3 package versions are affected, please?
Which upstream release first included these patches? And please could
you provide your failure use cases so that we can decide on importance
and the trade-offs in maintenance, regression risk, etc, in deciding
whether to cherry-pick these fixes over waiting to update to a new
upstream release in a future Ubuntu release?

Once you have answered these questions, please change the bug status
back to New. Thanks!

Will try to get a patch for this up tomorrow. Note that it's not a

ignore it :)

[Bug 1437005] Re: Default sshd_config file has bad path to sftp-server. Should be /usr/lib/openssh/sftp-server, not /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server

2015-12-03 Thread Colin Watson
This is peculiar, because I don't believe we've ever written it out with
the upstream libexec path. Yes, the examples file shows it as libexec,
but we've written out "Subsystem sftp /usr/lib/openssh/sftp-server" for
new installations since 2005.

Is it possible that you had hand-edited your sshd_config at some point?

2015-12-03 Thread jean-christophe manciot
I really appreciate you're taking some time to answer this.

However, there's some confusion here: you're answering in this thread to
another issue which is located in another thread
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1522190). My
configuration is not the same. could you try to reproduce the new issue
with my new settings and answer in the new thread?

In the meantime, I'll post more information about sshd_config & ssh_config in
the new thread.
You were right: I'm not using a default configuration, but openssh should also
work in other situations that the default one, right?

Hi there!

Looking for a way to update our freeradius servers, (2.1.x and 2.2.x are
on EOL http://freeradius.org/version2.html) hoping that on the next
Ubuntu LTS there will be 3.x freeradius version (Centos 7 already has
3.0.x rpm package) found that the free-radius package version still on
the 2.x branch.

Developers mark 3.x as the stable version of free radius so i think a
new LTS should package that version.

[Bug 1322431] Re: [needs-packaging] libsnmp-dev: Cannot create snmpv3 user with net-snmp-config command

2015-12-03 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

@vgeloven: this is not needs-packaging since a fix for this bug doesn't
not need a new package, just a fixed one. So I'm removing the needs-
packaging tag.

This is presumed fixed in 15.10 since it is on 5.7.3+dfsg-1ubuntu2 and
Debian reports it was fixed in 5.7.2.1~dfsg-1, so I'm marking this Fix
Released to reflect this. However based on the versions it does appear
to still affect Trusty so I'll add a task to track that.

[Bug 1497263] Re: Unable to negotiate a key exchange method

2015-12-03 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

I cannot reproduce this. My log is below. Could this be a
misconfiguration on your system? For example, your lines "debug1:
key_load_private_cert: No such file or directory" suggest to me that you
are running a non-default configuration.

My failure to reproduce:

2015-12-03 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Simo, or anyone else affected,

Accepted multipath-tools into vivid-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-
tools/0.4.9-3ubuntu12.15.04.2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at

[Bug 1522606] [NEW] Unable to rebuild this package from Source - FTBFS

2015-12-03 Thread Pascal Mons
Public bug reported:

I am trying to compile on my Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 the latest source
cffi-1.3.1 in order to build the python-cffi package.

The source and debian folder are available at:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-cffi

Here are the steps I took:

$ wget -P ~/Downloads/cffi
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/python-cffi_1.3.1.orig.tar.gz
$ wget -P ~/Downloads/cffi
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/python-cffi_1.3.1-1ubuntu1.debian.tar.xz
$ cd cffi
$ tar zxf python-cffi_1.3.1.orig.tar.gz
$ XZ_OPT=-9 tar Jcf python-cffi_1.3.1.orig.tar.xz cffi-1.3.1/
$ rm python-cffi_1.3.1.orig.tar.gz
$ tar xf python-cffi_1.3.1-1ubuntu1.debian.tar.xz -C cffi-1.3.1/
$ cd cffi-1.3.1/
$ dpkg-checkbuilddeps
$ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc -Zxz -z9

Then I stumble on this error:

running build_ext
failed to import Cython:
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/Cython/Compiler/Scanning.so: undefined symbol:
Py_InitModule4_64
error: Cython does not appear to be installed

E: pybuild pybuild:256: build: plugin distutils failed with: exit code=1:
/usr/bin/python-dbg setup.py build
dh_auto_build: pybuild --build -i python{version}-dbg -p 2.7 --dir . returned
exit code 13
make: *** [build] Error 13
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules build gave error exit status 2

The symbol Py_InitModule4_64 is not defined in the shared library
Scanning.so, as the following cmd. confirms:

$ nm -gl /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/Cython/Compiler/Scanning.so | grep
Py_InitModule4_64
nm: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/Cython/Compiler/Scanning.so: no symbols
$

However from the Python environment the import seems to succeed:

$ python
Python 2.7.6 (default, Jun 22 2015, 17:58:13)
[GCC 4.8.2] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> from Cython.Compiler import Scanning
>>>

As I was unable to recompile the latest source, I tried to recompile the
"official" Trusty 14.04 source python-cffi_0.8.2.orig.tar.gz
And I stumbled on the very same error ...

What is wrong here ? Why can't we recompile the package from source ?

Of course cython package is installed. I first used the "official" Trusty 14.04
version 0.20.1+git90-g0e6e38e-1ubuntu2.
Then I compiled and used the latest version 0.23.3-0ubuntu1.

With the same result explained above.

I got the impression that this was a spurious message, ignored in the
postinst, and that the daemon starts anyway? If so, you might have a
different bug there. Or if this bug as reported also causes the daemon
to fail, then I might have misunderstood. Please could you clarify?

@Lars can I leave it with you for a patch to 5.6 please?

[Bug 1522579] [NEW] ip rule list broken with kernel 3.19.0-37.42-generic on Ubuntu 14.04.3

[Bug 1314887] Re: ifupdown hook is missing in upstart script

2015-12-03 Thread Brian Turek
[Impact]

The documentation included in both upstream Open vSwitch (ovs) 2.0.2 and
the version distributed by Ubuntu states that it supports configuring
ovs using /etc/network/interfaces (see /usr/share/doc/openvswitch-
switch/README.Debian).  Moreover,  /etc/init.d/openvswitch-switch
contains the necessary logic to support parsing /etc/network/interfaces
but that logic is completely missing in the Upstart /etc/init
/openvswitch-switch.conf script.

The result of this issue is a user can properly configure their network
in /etc/network/interfaces, test it with ifup/ifdown, reboot, and have
no network configured with the machine comes back up. If the user is
unaware that Upstart is being used and not classic init.d scripts, a
manual call using /etc/init.d/openvswitch-switch works as expected.
Without boot integration, users can't easily use Open vSwitch to
configure their "main" interface and have a system work on boot.

The fix in this thread basically adds support for using the normal
config files (/etc/network/interfaces and /etc/network/interfaces.d/*)
to configure the network on boot.

[Test Case]

After running `apt-get install -y openvswitch-switch`, add a stanza to
/etc/network/interfaces like the following:

allow-ovs br0
iface br0 inet static
ovs_type OVSBridge
address 172.16.0.1
network 255.255.255.0

Try `ifup br0` and `ifdown br0` and notice how the interface is
correctly controlled. Try `/etc/init.d/openvswitch-switch restart` and
note how the interface comes up. Reboot the machine and note how br0 is
not correctly configured.

[Regression Potential]

This problem is recognized by the user community (see
http://www.opencloudblog.com/?p=240,
http://blog.scottlowe.org/2012/08/17/installing-kvm-and-open-vswitch-on-
ubuntu/, etc) and people have been manually patching their systems for
years to get the desired capability. It's conceivable people's odd
ways of fixing this problem could conflict with the potential patch.
Double ifup'ing or ifdown'ing an interface shouldn't break any systems
but error messages may be emitted.

The other unlikely issue is that users have interfaces correctly
configured in /etc/network/interfaces and are deliberately depending on
the interfaces *not* coming up on boot. This patch would cause these
boot-dormant interfaces to come up unexpectedly but, again, I think this
problem unlikely.

[Other Info]

This patch aligns the boot behavior both with what's expected and what the
documentation states.

[Bug 1273462] Re: Users can mistakenly run init.d scripts and cause problems if an equivalent upstart job already exists

2015-12-03 Thread Mark Stosberg
In Bug #1521771, I spent some time tracking down different behavior
between the mysql-5.5 "init" and "upstart" scripts. They differ on how
many seconds are waited between the SIGTERM and SIGKILL signals are
sent. Different values can mean the difference between a slower clean
shutdown and a shutdown interrupted by a SIGKILL signal.

In the case of that of that package, redirecting the "init.d" calls to
the upstart script will have a positive impact in my opinion-- giving
more time for MySQL to shutdown cleanly. So the proposed patch will be
functionally helpful.

I do suggest that for any package that's affected by this, the "init.d"
script should be cleaned out, so only the code remains that redirects
people to the upstart script.

There is nothing about this line of code in an "init.d" script which
indicates that that all the code below it is about to ignored:

  . /lib/lsb/init-functions

Nor does the proposed patch emit any output that confirms that redirect
is happened. The result is that someone could pull their hair out
wondering why the "init.d" script is not behaving as expected.

Realize that there are packages like "ec2-consistent-snapshot" which
exist only in a PPA and make a hardcoded call to "/etc/init.d/mysql". It
does that in hopes of working on non-Debian-based systems as well. (The
package is also several years old, from an era when init.d scripts were
more common). I'm not sure what small projects are supposed to when
they want to issue a command like "stop mysql" in a way that might work
across SysV init scripts, upstart and systemd.

Re: [Bug 1521771] Re: init.d.mysql shutdown timeout value does not match init/mysql.conf value

2015-12-03 Thread Mark Stosberg
Thanks for the reply.

For the mysql-5.6 package, I recommend clearly out the "init.d" script
except for the redirect to the "upstart" script.

This will avoid the false impression that the code in in the "init.d"
script is still active.

[Bug 1521771] Re: Shutdown timeout values are inconsistent between init.d, upstart and systemd init scripts

2015-12-03 Thread Robie Basak
We derive the package from Debian, and in Debian multiple init systems
are supported. So the package does need to ship all three. In Debian the
user could switch between init systems and reboot, and the package and
associated service should continue to work.

I appreciate that this could be confusing in that you might thing that
an init.d script is active when in fact the system is running upstart
(or systemd) and so not using it, but that is how the packaging
currently works. If that should be changed, it needs to be addressed as
part of a larger effort - there is nothing we can do specifically in
MySQL packaging to make it less confusing.
