[Bug 1681470] Re: [ocata] libvirt-daemon-system package post scriptlet of Ubuntu-Cloud Ocata for Xenial breaks /etc/group

2018-01-11 Thread Corey Bryant
Also marking as invalid for the cloud-archive based on Christian's
comments. The libvirt packages in the xenial cloud archives are
unchanged from the corresponding Ubuntu release they've been backported
from.

[Bug 1742752] Re: system error(4) since latest update on xenial

2018-01-11 Thread Andreas Hasenack
Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu.

This last update didn't touch AD settings, so you might have been running an
even older version. Could you attach to this bug these log files please:
- /var/log/dpkg.log
- /var/log/apt/term.log
- /var/log/apt/history.log

Could you also please share your /etc/sssd/sssd.conf file? Feel free to
scrub any private data, but please redact it instead of removing the
line entirely.

Thanks

[Bug 1742761] [NEW] Drop dh-apport to reduce delta with Debian

2018-01-11 Thread Andreas Hasenack
Public bug reported:

If we drop our dh-apport usage, and install the apport script
"manually", we can submit the apport changes to Debian and reduce our
delta once they accept it. We can't do that with the net-snmp package as
it's now because dh-apport is in debian experimental.

Many packages in Debian have apport scripts, which seems to indicate
upstream tends to accept these sort of changes, as long as they don't
require dh-apport.

See https://code.launchpad.net/~ahasenack/ubuntu/+source/net-snmp/+git
/net-snmp/+merge/335950 for the discussion where this came up.

[Bug 1741113] Re: package samba 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.12 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2018-01-11 Thread Andreas Hasenack
Your /var/log/samba/cores directory is owned by user "ats", not root.
The same goes for the inner nmbd and smbd directories.

Please change that by running this command:

sudo chown root /var/log/samba/cores /var/log/samba/cores/*

And then try the systemctl restart command from earlier again.
