dig deals with being passed an IP address nicely and will resolve a
hostname correctly to the internal IP address of the instance in ec2 and

The latest version of mysql-connector-java has a new dependency on
libslf4j-java.
libslf4j-java provides a standardized logging framework.
This package in turn requires javassist
Both of these packages where in main up until oneiric.

javassist is not actually used in libslf4j-java along with commons-lang;
both libraries are required for the -ext component which is not built in
this package.

libjna-posix-java has been renamed libjnr-posix-java; this is inline
with upstream changes. However build is now maven based so pulls in a
load of extra dependencies. The package ships both ant and maven build
files so it may be possible to switch back.

Jython is an optional build dependency of both so it would be possible
to drop this feature in both packages.
I highly doubt that anyone is actually using jython with these libraries
but I might be wrong.
