I've been running Ubuntu LTS Versions since 6.06 and doing the upgrades.
I'm currently at 10.04 and I've got this exact same problem.
I've tried adding in the fix listed in Comments #18 and #25 (the same
fix), but that doesn't work at all - meaning Samba does not load at all
and running smbtree
Yes, I am.
I temporarily solved the problem by uninstalling mysql-server.
I just tried to install it again. mysqld will not start. This is what
happened:
m...@matt-ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install mysql-server

I've added this bug to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TechnicalBoardAgenda for
the next meeting, which is tomorrow, 25 Jan at 1500 UTC. The issues seem
pretty clear from the comments, so I think we can discuss it regardless
of who shows up. Folks who are interested in this issue are encouraged
to attend,
Some other notes... after disabling Apache's mod_deflate, the segfault
stopped as well.

Title:
MicroReleaseExceptions is a list of standing exceptions. It's not
necessary to go through the tech board to handle one-off requests like
this one. The SRU team can decide what to do here without TB
involvement.

I'm having a Python + SSL problem for certain hosts and I think they are
related. Everything was working fine on 10.04 then I just recently
upgraded to 10.10 and certain https sites don't load using python's
httplib.

Public bug reported:
Symptoms are similar to bug 201786, but as advised in that bug by
Sebastien, I'm filing this separately.
I'm unable to use public key authentication while the agent is running,
