You didn't reference asterisk-sounds-extra within your original post, my
mistake for missing it. As for the issue, asterisk-sounds-extra looks to
have been removed because an incompatible license. Looks like we are
still waiting for Digium to fix it.

Not sure what you mean. When are we expected to drop sqlite2?

If sqlite2 is going to be removed, then we can just updated the asterisk
package dependencies and remove it. Hence removing res_config_sqlite
and cdr_sqlite.

Right. It just means we have to bump Asterisk from 1.8 to 11, that is
when res_config_sqlite3 was added, when we drop sqlite2 and require an
upgrade path.

[Bug 920020] Re: NOT FOUND answer on OPTIONS request

2012-03-10 Thread Paul Belanger
No, I actually disagree with the debian sync of asterisk at this point
of time. Between 1.8.4.4 and 1.8.9.0 / 1.8.10.0 there have been too
many regressions. And this late in the game it would not want to go
through the process of retesting asterisk to make sure we didn't break
something new.

[Bug 920020] Re: NOT FOUND answer on OPTIONS request

2012-03-10 Thread Paul Belanger
Right, they are still open. 1.8.4.4 is a nice release, it has it's issues
however for each release moving forward something new / different breaks.
Precise being a 5 year support is not much of an issue at this point,
regardless of the regressions found we would need to backport them eventually.

Regarding the CVE's you have referenced, yes. They would need to be backported
into other releases. I plan to open up a security issue for them shortly.

This is different then

from it are already merged into asterisk 1.8.4.4.

Still working on finding the actual problem.

[Bug 931859] Re: chown: cannot access `/etc/nagios3/resource.cfg': No such file or directory

2012-02-15 Thread Paul Belanger
The issue is the file permission being changed are not part of this
package. In fact, they are already handled in the
nagios3-common.postinst script.

It should be noted this is the same fix that upstream has chosen[1] to
use.

[Bug 544330] [NEW] qemu-system-ppc: unable to boot past 'returning from prom_init'

2010-03-22 Thread Paul Belanger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qemu-kvm

I'm running qemu-system-ppc onto of a x86_64 machine running Karmic. I
have managed to get qemu-system-ppc running, asside from the binary blob
issue, but having troubles getting a version of Ubuntu to actually post
properly.

I can get qemu to post and load into yaboot. However, once I enter:

boot: install

the last thing I see from qemu is:

Calling quiesce...
returning from prom_init

I can get into qemu monitor (CTRL-ALT 2), however with my lack of qemu
experience I'm not sure what I need to do to get debug logs.
