Not present in the stub resolver on jaunty either. I can understand the
reluctance to add it in due to potential DNSSEC breakage, but it is a
user-configurable option in resolv.conf so it shouldn't be too much of a
risk.

I'd like to add my voice to this bug as 'me too'. It is pesky and
frustrating to have to work this out for the 'minor' releases. I hope

daemon was started second is the one that randomly segfaults during
failover peer sync. My failover configuration is pretty much identical,
but I'm not using LDAP to store leases.

automated ssh processes that have been working without a hitch prior to

Since I am running dhclient -d eth0 I have not been disconnected. I do
not intend to run dhclient this way, it is a part of the minimal system
and should work in the background with no intervention. Who is actively

I noticed that this is fixed in Ubuntu 12.04, /etc/resolv.conf is now a
symlink to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf and /run is mounted as tmpfs so
it now works if /etc is mounted as readonly.
Maybe this bug can be closed now?
