[Bug 569919] Re: ntpd constantly complains about being unable to create socket

2011-03-06 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
In my case, I have ntpd running on my router running 10.04.2.
It appears ntpd is only complaining about interfaces that have both IPv4 and
IPv6 addresses at the same time.
My lan interface (eth0) has both and ntpd is complaining.
It isn't complaining about interface 'i6' which is my IPv6 tunnel to Hurricane
Electric.

[Bug 54918] Re: DNS-lookup to AAAA (IPv6) doesn't seem to work

2010-03-21 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
IPv6 is not 'part' of BackupPC. IPv6 is part of the OS. BackupPC uses
rsync to backup files from linux machines which in turn is capable of
making IPv6 connections. I can confirm that BackupPC using rsync to
another linux box works. Since no one is answering questions or
providing more information on the bug, I am marking it as invalid. If
someone can show that there is a bug and provide a little more detailed
information, please re-open it.

[Bug 282825] Re: winbindd stops and takes up 60%-100% CPU

2010-03-15 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
I am still running into the issue. I just upgraded the machine this
morning from 8.10 to 9.04. In a few weeks it will be brought up to
9.10.

The issue is most noticable with apache because the machine serves our
corporate intranet. Whenever people try to access pages it takes 3-5
seconds for the page to return, and the entire time the likewise-
winbindd process is using up significant CPU time.

[Bug 54918] Re: DNS-lookup to AAAA (IPv6) doesn't seem to work

2009-10-20 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
I am currently backing up quite a few machines with BackupPC, two of
them are IPv6 only--but they are linux boxes. Is this just a problem
with SMB/Windows backups?

[Bug 282825] Re: winbindd stops and takes up 60%-100% CPU

2009-02-25 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
This issue is happening to me using the copy of winbind that comes with the
likewise-open package.
r...@crosstalk:/etc/samba# apt-cache policy likewise-open
likewise-open:
  Installed: 4.0.5-0ubuntu3.1
  Candidate: 4.0.5-0ubuntu3.1
  Version table:
 *** 4.0.5-0ubuntu3.1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 4.0.5-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages

This is on an intranet webserver, so it's mostly used to authenticate people
hitting apache against MS Active Directory.
I usually see two winbind processes maxing out the CPU between them.

If I attach to either process using strace while this is going on, I get the
following:

[Bug 235100] Re: mysql got signal 11

2008-07-15 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the problem with the data
stripped out or anonymized, and they don't want to release the contents
of the SQL file. We have worked around the issue and they are fine with
that resolution.

I wish I could be more help.

I'll mark this bug as invalid.
