[Bug 1411030] [NEW] backport support for unix domain sockets
Public bug reported: Background: Ceph's RADOS Gateway (RGW) is a web application that provides an S3- and Swift-compatible interface to Ceph. RGW uses mod_proxy_fcgi in Apache 2.4. In the Ceph team's testing, the RGW application performs much better when using Unix Domain Sockets with mod_proxy_fcgi. On older versions of Apache that do not support Unix Domain Sockets, RGW must use TCP sockets instead, which do not perform as well. The upstream Apache project shipped Unix Domain Socket support in version 2.4.9. Since Ubuntu Trusty has Apache 2.4.7, I'd like to request that the Ubuntu Apache maintainers backport Unix Domain Socket support into their 2.4.7 package. [Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
OK, no idea if this will help, but when I get thrown into initramfs, when running 'dmraid -ay', it says the raid volume is already activated, but in /dev I only have the raided drive (dm-0) and not any of the partitions (dm-1 and dm-2). Booting from a rescue disk, I have the same problem and after running kpartx (iirc, kpartx -a /dev/dm-0, I'm not in front of my pc), the devices appear and can be mounted. So, if the dmraid udev tool is supposed to take care of running kpartx... it's not working. btw, drives are running under isw : Intel Software RAID (4x120gb agility 3s, sda-sdd), so I'm not sure if I'm affected by the lack of awk and sed hooks as martin pointed out earlier... [Bug 604753] Re: [eglibc] process shared mutex's fail on armel v7 (thumb)
I think this the issue has been fixed by #643171. I do not see this testcase failing using a recent (e)glibc and GCC. Could anyone of the original reporters check if it works for them? [Bug 604753] Re: [eglibc] process shared mutex's fail on armel v7 (thumb)
I had a quick look into the apr sources. Their locks/unix/proc_mutex.c can map the proc_mutex functionality to various methods: 1) Posix sem implemenation (see mutex_posixsem_methods) 2) SysV sem implementation (see mutex_sysv_methods) 3) pthread implementation (see mutex_proc_pthread_methods) 4) fcntl implementation(see mutex_fcntl_methods) 5) flock implementation(see mutex_flock_methods) I think only the pthread implemenation (3) is of interest here. The creation of the pthread_mutex happens at: locks/unix/proc_mutex.c:proc_mutex_proc_pthread_create that calls pthread_mutex_init with the following attributes: PTHREAD_PROCESS_SHARED, PTHREAD_MUTEX_ROBUST_NP, PTHREAD_PRIO_INHERIT The apr-phthread-mutex functionality relies on pthread_mutex_lock and pthread_mutex_trylock. The eglibc implemenation for such a mutex calls atomic_compare_and_exchange_val_acq (see also lll_lock/lll_trylock at ports/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/arm/nptl/lowlevellock.h) which goes down to __arch_compare_and_exchange_val_32_acq. Using (e)glibc (= 2.12.1-0ubuntu11) and GCC (=4.5) this expands to __sync_val_compare_and_swap (ports/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/arm/nptl/bits/atomic.h) which should be safe even on a SMP system. Some infos regarding the atomic memory operations can be found at: https://wiki.linaro.org/WorkingGroups/ToolChain/AtomicMemoryOperations#implementation%20details The next step would be to check whether the testcase fails using a decent GCC and eglibc (Ubuntu Natty for example). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apr in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604753 Title: [eglibc] process shared mutex's fail on armel v7 (thumb) -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 578179] [NEW] No write permission on smbmount on XP machine, if the shared folder is more than 1 word
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba I have a windows xp machine. With shared folders named, My Documents, Private, Cafe Files, Softwares. All of these folders have sub- folders in it. All these folders have read-write permission enabled. (Allow network users to change my files: shared settings in XP ). Opening these folders through Nautilus (press CTRL+L, then enter: smb://192.168.0.15), all of those 4 shared folders are there. But I can only write to Private and Softwares folders. I can't write to My Documents and Cafe Files directly. I mean, i can't write to the main folders of My Documents and Cafe Files but i can write on their sub- folders. As I have observed, shared folders with space on their names, i can't write to them. Like My Documents and Cafe Files. I can only write to their sub-folders, not in their main folder. No problem with shared folder with one word only. Like, Private or Softwares. I can write to their main folder and sub-folders. I hope this information is enough. I have seen old bug report about this one, but the status is already set to invalid. We have the same problem with the reporter of that bug. It's just that his explanation is not very clear. [Bug 537757] [NEW] PHP modules removed when upgrading apache2 to 2.2.11-2ubuntu2.6
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apache2 My server is running Ubuntu 9.04 and is using the prefork MPM plus the PHP module. The upgrade package seems to think I want to remove the prefork MPM and replace it with Worker MPM. It then complains that the dependency on the Worker MPM can't be satisfied (because it's not installed!) and then installs the Prefork MPM. [Bug 40189] Re: autofs needs to be restarted to pick up some shares
Our site configuration stores auto.master in NFS for ease of updating. (Yes it should perhaps move to LDAP, but that is beyond my control.) Karmic autofs starts correctly about half of the time, depending on whether the NFS mount finishes before autofs gets around to reading its config. (I'm not sure if this is the exact same bug.) We clearly want autofs to start when an interface comes up. (In fact, our particular configuration requires that a _particular_ interface be up, but that may be out of scope of this bug.) -- autofs needs to be restarted to pick up some shares https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This looks related to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=549376, as I (the original reporter of that bug) am seeing the same SigBlk mask on my root sshd process. It may also be related to https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271 where sshd was inheriting a bad signal mask from somewhere else. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #549376 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=549376 ** Bug watch added: OpenSSH Portable Bugzilla #271 https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271 -- bad signal mask of ssh sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 412972] Re: bad signal mask of ssh sessions
I'm running Debian Unstable booting with file-rc, and there are several system daemons that have screwy SigBlk masks, of which sshd is one. They are listed in the attached commands file. You can get the data for a similar report on your own machine by running the following commands (as root): grep SigBlk /proc/*/status | grep -v commands for x in $(grep SigBlk /proc/*/status | grep -v | sed -e 's@/proc/\(.*\)/status...@\1@g'); do echo -n $x:; cat /proc/$x/cmdline; echo; done commands After running this, I cleaned things up a bit in vim to better organize the report. Perhaps people experiencing this bug on Ubuntu could run a similar report? ** Attachment added: System daemons with screwy sigprocmasks on Debian Unstable http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33042949/commands -- bad signal mask of ssh sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
