[Bug 1085057] [NEW] lxc-clone of busybox lxc 440M instead 1.7M

2012-11-30 Thread Rene K. Mueller
Public bug reported:

I am testing various lxc templates from Ubuntu 12.10, and noticed this:

% lxc-create -t busybox -n bb00
% lxc-clone -o bb00 -n bb01

% du -sh /var/lib/lxc/bb??
1.7M/var/lib/lxc/bb00
440M/var/lib/lxc/bb01

The problem is, that you copy /bin from bb00, which is ONE busybox with
281 hardlinks, once cloned to bb01, you copied all hardlinked busybox
now individual files, blowing up from 1.7M to 440M.

I think it relates that you use rsync in lxc-clone, which disregards
hardlinks.

[Bug 745195] [NEW] Tomcat6 updates depend on tomcat-user.xml

2011-03-29 Thread Rene Treffer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tomcat6

How to reproduce:
- install non-latest of tomcat6
- delete /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-user.xml
- apt-get upgrade

Expected behavior:
- The package should be upgraded to the latest version

Actual behavior:
Setting up tomcat6 (6.0.24-2ubuntu1.7) ...
chmod: cannot access `/etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing tomcat6 (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Tested systems: ubuntu/lucid(LTS) and ubuntu/maverick.

/etc/tomcat6 should be customizable. The post-install script has a hard
dependency on /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml which schould not happen.
The target systems were configured as solr servers and do not need
anything but a very basic tomcat configuration, provided by automatic
configuration management.

[Bug 434799] Re: X11 forwarding via SSH does not work after upgrade to karmic

2010-08-28 Thread Rene
Dear All,
This bug affects me from lucid.
As I don't have ipv6 available, I am used to de-activate it. But this bug still
affected me.
I tried the workarounds.
AddressFamily inet to sshd_config works for me.
add the -4 to the exec line in /etc/init/ssh.conf .. works for me

also it seems that stop, then start is needed for me to apply the new
config.

I prefer customize sshd_config, because I always modify it for my
personal config, so its just one more line...

[Bug 554094] Re: Windows clients cannot connect unless Samba manually restarted

2010-05-13 Thread Rene
same problem here:

running on ubuntu 10.04 (GNOME; upgraded from working 9.10):

log.smbd after restart:

[2010/05/13 13:32:02, 0] smbd/server.c:1069(main)
  smbd version 3.4.7 started.

standard input is not a socket, assuming -D option

local connection work just fine (Connect to Server -- localhost -- works)
but trying to connect from my mac it stays in connection - loop no response.

[Bug 292836] Re: Cannot browse samba shares

2008-11-16 Thread Rene Zeldenthuis
Also here a fresh 8.10 install and unable to browse (worked with 8.04). Maybe
due to installing language support?
Hard to imagine this bug only affects us... Can also reproduce this bug with
smbclient; last character is missing.

** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete = Confirmed
