I'll go do that here is just a few minutes.

Not sure what the results will be since the report was 2 months ago.

And yes, if I go across the LAN to the Ubuntu server and store and retrieve
files across the LAN, I can repeat the Panic.

If it is possible to install apport on the system, let apport get a

[Bug 1278635] Re: Panic or segfault in Samba

2014-02-13 Thread Wm Lewis
And another Panic action today. Details below.

-
The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 24852 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log
files may contain additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba
binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to
Ubuntu by visiting this link:

[Bug 1278635] [NEW] Panic or segfault in Samba

2014-02-10 Thread Wm Lewis
Public bug reported:

Panic email supplied this:

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 19000 (/usr/sbin/smbd).
