I have the same problem. I tried it with qemu 1.4 and the last 1.6.0-dfsg-2 on a debian testing system. Win 7 says always "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I tried a lot of usb sticks but always the same... I hope there will be sometime a solution for this :( I wait over a year in the hope that this will work.
