[Bug 907161] [NEW] BIND9 server lockup
Public bug reported: Bind9 process freezes once/twice daily. Process is still present but will not respond to any queries. The process will not gracefully shut down, requires 'kill -9' in order to stop it. Restarting the process restores normal operation. Problem first occurred after upgrading from bind9 version 9.7.0.dfsg.P1-1ubuntu0.3 to version 9.7.0.dfsg.P1-1ubuntu0.4. Problem seems identical to- http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=601830 and https://www.isc.org/software/bind/advisories/cve-2011-0414 Tried the -n1 workaround as described in the above ISC web page, but the problem still occurs. In my case the configuration file wasn't loaded until I changed the script file. Therefore time in my system wasn't correctly set according to configuration. I forgot to mention that the OS is Ubuntu Server edition. I can confirm this bug occuring with mysql-server-5.0 and apparmor on Ubuntu 8.04.2. When apparmor was installed, running '/etc/init.d/mysql start' would give errors.
