Thanks for reporting this error. The syslog shows that mysql is trying to read /etc/my.cnf. This is a nonstandard location, and one which the apparmor profile by default denies. You'll need to update /etc/apaprmor.d/local/usr.sbin.mysqld to grant this permission, or move the configuration file into /etc/mysql/
