hello I am facing a similar problem; mysql-server will not install: apt-get install mysql-server [ ... ] Unable to set password for the MySQL "root" user │ │ │ │ An error occurred while setting the password for the MySQL administrative user. From log: Aborting downgrade from (at least) 10.0 to 5.6.
