Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance. ** Tags added: gbj-oklahoma-0902 -- package postfix None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/postfix.list] failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248310 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

What is the output of ls -l /etc/aliases What happens if you run newaliases manually. sudo newaliases I see from the dpkg log that you have a lot of software from 3rd party repositories installed. Is there any of it that might have modified your aliases file? ** Changed in: postfix (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- package postfix None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/postfix.list] failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248310 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

(%:~)- ls -l /etc/aliases -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 64 2006-03-17 16:40 /etc/aliases 'newaliases' returns no output. I don't think I really have *a lot* of 3rd party applications installed, but almost every one needs their own repo. None of it should have touched the aliases file. I have Miro, Wine, Swiftfox, Opera, Picasa, Google Desktop, Last.fm, and two Pidgin plugins. And I don't generally ruin GUI apps as root. -- package postfix None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/postfix.list] failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248310 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
