[Bug 343740] Re: Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed
Hm. There is a reason why we don't provide Webmin in Ubuntu. It doesn't work properly with the Debian configuration files. So it can screw up upgrades... If you installed and used webmin out of some third-party repository and it screwed up your configuration files in an upgrade-unfriendly way, you're on your own, this is not a bug in Ubuntu. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343740 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Here it is, for some reason i was denied access last time, that is why it wasn't included (used sudo this time) ** Attachment added: apt-term.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24043460/apt-term.log -- Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343740 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 343740] Re: Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed
Here is the relevant part of the logs: Merging changes into the new version Conflicts found! Please edit `/etc/samba/smb.conf' and sort them out manually. The file `/etc/samba/smb.conf.ucf-new' has a record of the failed merge of the configuration file. dpkg: fejl under behandling af samba-common (--configure): underproces post-installation script returnerede afslutningsstatus 3 You apparently failed to merge the old and new configuration files. I'd advise to edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file contents to your liking and run sudo dpkg --configure -a. -- Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343740 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 343740] Re: Update from 8.04.1 to 8.10 failed
I'm not sure what my liking would be, I use webmin to controle this box, after the update all the settings in Samba where lost, so i just took 5 min to set it up again (nothing advanced there, just 4 shares). My Apache seams to be screwed though, only one or tow of the 6 virtual machines seams to be working, the rest just picks eithere of thows to othere and displays there content, seams some thing is hay wire with the default setup. hopfully i can get that sorted tomorrow.
