It looks like a kernel CIFS issue, but I can't reproduce that. Tested on kernel 2.6.30-6-server with a karmic CIFS client. Could you please indicate the kernel version you're running ? Can you reproduce it systematically ? What is the samba share you're connecting to ? (version of server). Thierry, I can reproduce this systematically using kernel 2.6.30-6-generic . However, this issue appears to be fixed in the kernel 2.6.30-7-generic which was released this morning.
