[Bug 439415] Re: Bundling UEC image with uec-images-provided kernel/ramdisk results in an EMI that fails to boot
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed- lucid' to 'verification-done-lucid'. If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. [Bug 439415] Re: Bundling UEC image with uec-images-provided kernel/ramdisk results in an EMI that fails to boot
I'm sure that we can get this fixed. Theres just some thing different in the initramdisk created in the chroot with the -virtual flavour of the kernel and on with the -server flavour on real hardware. It seems more likely to be the -server/-vritual difference to me. We'll get this fixed soon, but not for beta. -- Bundling UEC image with uec-images-provided kernel/ramdisk results in an EMI that fails to boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 439415] Re: Bundling UEC image with uec-images-provided kernel/ramdisk results in an EMI that fails to boot
It appears that the issue here is that -virtual does not include sym53c8xx.ko ('kernel/drivers/scsi/sym53c8xx_2/sym53c8xx.ko). This is the hardware that kvm presents as scsi if booted with such as: kvm -drive file=file,if=scsi,bus=0,unit=6 -- Bundling UEC image with uec-images-provided kernel/ramdisk results in an EMI that fails to boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
