I had the same problem. I tried to perform this fix, but I'm not sure if I did
it right.
n...@nick-laptop:~$ dpkg-reconfigure bacula-director-mysq
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure must be run as root
n...@nick-laptop:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure bacula-director-mysq
[sudo] password for nick:
It looks like the mysql server wasnt running:
Creating config file /etc/dbconfig-common/bacula-director-mysql.conf with new
version
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2).
unable to connect to mysql server.
