Oops, cifs-utils is only in Maverick. For Lucid (10.04 LTS) you should
install smbfs instead.

What are the permissions on /home/imota/.smbcredentials ? Does moving
those credentials to /etc/smbcredentials (and updating fstab

stumped to be honest...

Thank you for the quick response.
I checked for cifs-utils and could not find it as a valid package for my
distro (Lucid 10.04). I did a quick man mount-cifs, first line of
description says:
This tool is part of the samba(7) suite.
So I ran a quick dpkg --get-selections:
dpkg
