Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu
better.
I can confirm this behavior trying to install qemu-system on a machine
where the latest qemu-kvm is installed. Apparently, qemu-kvm continues
to ship qemu-system-ppc64 when it should only be shipped by
