I assume this is now no longer related to the vmware driver, so am fine
calling this bug fix released.

Serge, can you try this with the vmvga driver? If it works, I think we
can close the bug as the remaining bits are really bug #792075.

I just tried today's live cd, and Unity 2D seems to work with the vmvga
driver.

Using libvirt, we used this in our xml:

and it works ok. According to mdeslaur:
