[Bug 992409] Re: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature
Running 10.10 with a live USB, I still get the correct reading: $ sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +78.0°C (crit = +105.0°C) k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1: +88.2°C (high = +70.0°C) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lm-sensors in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992409 Title: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lm-sensors/+bug/992409/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 992409] Re: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature
This looks like a kernel regression. We will need to narrow down where it was introduced. Could you try 11.04 and 11.10 next? ** Package changed: lm-sensors (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lm-sensors in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992409 Title: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/992409/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 992409] Re: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature
** Description changed: The acpitz virtual device on my laptop reports an incorrect temperature. This also leads to poor fan control (fan is either on full, or completely off). I would expect the temperature to be similar to that from k10temp. $ sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +1.0°C (crit = +105.0°C) k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1:+63.5°C (high = +70.0°C) + This is a regression from 10.10 which I was running previously where + that sensor worked correctly. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: lm-sensors 1:3.3.1-2ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue May 1 18:24:06 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release amd64 (20120425) ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_NZ:en - TERM=xterm - PATH=(custom, user) - LANG=en_NZ.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_NZ:en + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, user) + LANG=en_NZ.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: lm-sensors UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lm-sensors in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992409 Title: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lm-sensors/+bug/992409/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 992409] Re: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature
Can you please boot the 10.10 livecd and verify that you still get a correct reading there, and also run the following command and attach the resulting file ( DSDT.gz ): sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT | gzip -c - DSDT.gz ** Changed in: lm-sensors (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lm-sensors in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992409 Title: lm-sensors reports incorrect temperature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lm-sensors/+bug/992409/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
