Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu server 10.04 AMD64 with libapache2-mod-auth-mysql
(4.3.9-12ubuntu1).
Encryption is set to PHP_MD5.
Accounts passwors are md5 encoded using PHP and stored in a mysql database
(5.1.63-0ubuntu0.10.04.1).
The database is in UTF-8 (utf8_general_ci) so

The system dnsmasq is preventing nameservice from working with
NetworkManager. By setting /etc/deafault/dnsmasq ENABLED=1 to ENABLED=0,
nameservice started working again.

dnsmasq updating resolvconf when it's not configured to do DNS

The issue seems to be that with its current configuration (and including
bind-interfaces, and except-interface=lo), dnsmasq tries to update
DNS via resolvconf which adds a file under
/run/resolvconf/interface/lo.dnsmasq.
That file contains 'nameserver 127.0.0.1', which is absolutely incorrect

lxc-start-ephemeral only knows how to tweak the hostname for ubuntu and debian,
and needs to be taught about where rhel and centos put hostname, something like

Bridge systems, and patching for correct compilation with more recent
binutils[1]. As packaging is still under work using this upstream
