This is working as designed. multipath-tools does what it is told to do via
/etc/multipath.conf. You need to blacklist any devices you don't want
multipath-tools to create multipath devices for.

1ubuntu4.8 and the php5-fpm logs are rotated correctly.

Under current vivid, lightdm takes very long to appear as starting
lightdm is delayed until network-online.target. This is due to
/etc/init.d/openvpn having
# Required-Start:$network $remote_fs $syslog
# X-Start-Before:$x-display-manager gdm kdm xdm wdm ldm sdm nodm
