If that is the only way, then the software is bad, and needs to be fixed
or replaced.
I do not want an insecure system and potentially exploitable system
because of a setup with badly isolated processes and crappy software
that requires superuser privileges.

Hello, again... Looks like this problem has already been fixed in the
MIT krb5 developpement tree. The way they did it is more clean than mine
:)
So using my patch is only a workaround until Debian rebuild their
package against a newer krb5 release.

No, it's also with a WindowsXP client.
I do have some additional observations. When I do a force off when the
guest is running, it works (but is hardly diserable). Reboot works, Just
shutdown not. After shutdown, the guest is in a state that nothing
works, including forced off.
