on 12.04 perform
`LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libperl.so.5.14.2 freeradius -X`
on 11.10 perform
`LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libperl.so.5.12.4 freeradius -X`
it's what ever is install in /usr/lib/ for libperl.
This is from the command line. I'm not sure what happens when run from a

I am using ubuntu 12.04 and the same issue appeared:
/usr/sbin/freeradius: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/perl/5.14/auto/Digest/MD5/MD5.so: undefined symbol:
Perl_xs_apiversion_bootcheck
Any ideas how can I fix it?

I have also run into this problem in 11.04, the LD_PRELOAD does fix it.
Is there a planned fix? Or should I start hacking away at the init
script?

FWIW I did just notice that the referenced debian bug shows that it is
fixed in freeradius/2.1.10+dfsg-3, and I noticed that I am running
2.1.10+dfsg-2ubuntu2, is there a proper way to push the fix into ubuntu?

I have the problem in 11.04 too, but last post here is months ago and
the problem seems to persist?

Using the LD_PRELOAD fix worked.
