There was only one item worth mentioning today:

Bugs last updated on 2026-01-05 (Monday)

https://pad.lv/2136879 | squid | squid-openssl memory leaks.

While the user is reporting a memory leak, we are still unsure if we
are indeed looking at one. I asked for more details.
However, there is an odd behavior here. Squid's internal monitoring
tools keep reporting squid is not using any memory at all. I asked the
reporter to file a separate bug for that one since I could reproduce it
in a LXD noble container.

- 2025-12-25
- 2025-12-26
- 2025-12-30
- 2025-12-31

These are calmer times, so that sounds more than it is.
Out of all of these there were some cases not needing action or
updates, or just the team to come back which we see happen today.
Some I could handle directly, and out of all that the only
mention-worthy for us to further follow up has been:

An issue with new numactl in containers running on quite old kernels
We got feedback and out of that I was able to derive a test strategy for it.
I marked it to come up in housekeeping where we can assign it.

I also handled

- 2025-12-23

The only relevant bug there was:

https://pad.lv/2031548 | mysql-8.0 | 8.0.34 client lib change in
behavior/output - new warning

While this still seems to be valid, I am unsure if there are any actions
needed from our end here. There is an upstream bug open for that. I
closed some open tasks and left this one marked as only affecting jammy.

I added the proper tags to this one and asked the user to re-structure
their commits.

Added to Server ToDo.
This needs a change to say that the configuration file should be created
if not present, instead of saying the file does not exist.
What called my attention here is the lack of context of the changes (see
my comment in the issue) in the package changelog for such an important
change. I wonder if it is worth to file a bug requesting that more
context is added to that entry.

This is a request to provide crictl via a Debian package. However, what was
proposed is wrong, this is not implemented in containerd, it has its own
git
repo:

https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/cri-tools

We would need to package it from scratch. Today, we had an internal

addition to Ubuntu, but unfortunately, we do not have enough time to work

Athos tagged it as server-triage-discuss and I removed the tag, I hope my

Marked the bug as Invalid since this is unrelated to the containerd Debian

# Bug triage

## https://pad.lv/2056372 || D   | Incomplete| exim4
| Enabling SPF checks with CHECK_RCPT_SPF doesn't work |

Mitchell was interacting with the bug reporter about reproduction steps for
this bug, the bug reporter is promptly replying all the questions there,
maybe
Mitchell may want to take a look at it again.

## https://pad.lv/2064914 || D   | New   | qemu
   | Windows guest hangs after reboot from the guest OS |

The bug reporter already provided a potential fix in a PPA (adding an
upstream
commit). Since this involves running a Windows guest I did not try to
reproduce
it myself, but this might be easy since we already have a proposed fix.

Strictly speaking we are looking more after `dsctriage -c Server/Guide`
being the documentation we monitor and update.
But for awareness (it might sometimes be bad content being added by others)
it is good to see in triage what others put under the `Server` category in
general.

Sergio has reported a bug; most likely it will be mentioned during standup
today + someone needs to be assigned asap since it's Critical.

# Dsctriage

The user asked about the existence of the bug report which might be similar
to the kind of issue he is facing. Myself, I was struggling to find one,
but leave it as is. His comment will not be forgotten surely and
it does not seem to be critical thing.

Bugs tagged "-needs-merge -needs-sync -needs-oci-update -needs-snap-update

Hey,

Sorry, this one showed up in my triage and I started investigating it
before looking at the list. I already have a probable fix for it.

Cheers,

This bug was filed by Scott K and the postfix DEP-8 test is going to fail
once the Mantic archive opens, he asked for some help on fixing it.
Subscribed ubuntu-server.

Does this need tagging server-todo? Otherwise it'll go in the backlog
but won't get any further attention, no?

Lucas asked me to take a look at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid/+bug/2017460 , which I
did. I managed to reproduce it, posted my findings in the bug and
marked it as Triaged.

There is a patch from Foundations to fix this issue but I think they will
