but it is now

Hi John,
then you might like to try out Mac4Lin. It is supposed to make Linux
look like a Mac:
I don't know why anybody would want the Windows Safari look at all,
it's all battleship grey and quite lacking in any of the beauty of
either Compiz or Vista Aero.
My advice is to give up trying to get Safari running on Ubuntu and
instead go and see a psychiatrist... he may be able to cure you of

Sorry, been using Unix for 20+ years so take these things for granted...
To explain, ~ is a character for the home directory of a person. In
the following examples $ indicates a command prompt and should be
ignored - it's just to illustrate it's a command, not narrative.
$ cd ~

I believe there isn't a native version of Safari for Linux (not sure if
Apple ever will release one) however you may be able to get it running
with either CrossOver
You don't say why you liked Safari, John... if it was the way it

branch of a previous version of Konquerer so they're not identical but
very similar).

Mmmm, I rebooted the machine, then clicked on the Safari Icon again, and
this time got an error message saying basically, it isnt a windows
error, its more likely a wine error, causing it. It says it could be a
deficiency in wine., It does give this url http://appdb.winehq.org. I
