No change at all.. Only loss of wallpaper and everything except the

I tried this with a Live Karmic CD. Seems like the problem exists, since
the projector loses sync. Unfortunately, I do not have another screen,

Forget my suggestion. I took a leap and just removed ALL Compiz
components from the package manager and rebooted. Works fine now. So
it appears that it's not some crazy kernel update like I suspected, or

I have in fact eeebuntu, then I installed kaffeine and all needed
codecs.
I use a Terratec T² dvbt box. All drivers are OK for that device, the
pinguin is on the box.
When I have the option
Option AccelMethod XAA
(/etc/X11/xorg.conf in the

(Ubuntu)
