2010-01-19 Thread Dana Goyette
Something to consider trying to allow apport to catch Xorg crashes (at the expense of not getting a stacktrace in xorg log): enable NoTrapSignals in xorg.conf. https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-discuss/2008-November/006332.html -- Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in FatalError() when

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance. ** Package

2010-01-19 Thread Michael Pacey
Interestingly, this is not an issue if I use my card's VGA output rather than the DVI-D port - but my monitor initially complained about frequencies being out of range and I had to generate an xorg.conf and edit the HorizSync and VertRefresh with lower maximum values. Changing these figures has

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 509917] [NEW] X crashes when attempting to play Neverball with a Wiimote

2010-01-19 Thread Michael Marley
Public bug reported: On Lucid x64, X crashes when I attempt to play Neverball using a Wiimote as the controller with wminput. I launch wminput with the neverball config (wminput --config neverball), which works, putting the mouse into absolute positioning mode based on the Wiimote's tilt

Bartosz or others, Since I'm not a technie I didn't try to read that xorg.0.log but did you discover anything useful by examining it? Also, is there any chance the next version of Ubuntu will incorporate this so people with insignia or similar monitors, who had no problems with Drake but had

@Jörg Just to be clear, color does work, but only with a Svideo-to-composite adapter? Is what you say about the connector-pins in the last sentence a separate issue than the color or are you just high-lighting that the problem started with the upgrade? @everyone for me, the problem was solved

I'm trying bjaglin/Dominik's workaround (#37/#27) after trying to SteveE (#3) that gave me usual trouble. On my box, I have an ATI RV280 [Radeon 9200] [1002:5961] (rev 01), it seems to give better results. No font corruption, no low reactivity of cairo dock and the scores on benchmark of compiz
