OK, now I have video on the USB attached monitor. It is only running at
800x600. The Monitors dialog doesn't show anything higher than that.
How can I get it to 1280 x 1024 (native for that monitor)?

It seems that when you try to tap with one finger, the Two Finger
emulation scrolling is invoked. This could be due to the default values
of EmulateTwoFingerMinW, EmulateTwoFingerMinZ is not workable for you.
You can try to change these values by running this in terminal, for
confirmation

I have also encountered this problem, and it is quite annoying. I enjoy
two finger scroll, right click, etc... My multi touch gestures also
work fine in Windows, with the driver being able to truly differentiate
between one, two, and three fingers. This proves that my trackpad

Yes, for a while.. actually at some point I succeeded to run 9.10
without problems and then when I uprated to 10.04 the problems
restarted. Maybe I should try again... but I get tired to reinstall

I had 10.10 Alpha 2 running for several hours yesterday and nothing
exceptional happened. I installed all updates for 10.04 and had the
laptop running for several hours without the screen going black. I did
not change anything except for installing all updates (I last updated
before I posted by

I fix the problem after installing latest maverick kernel from
ppa:kernel-ppa/ppa
(linux-image-generic-lts-backport-maverick 2.6.35-12-generic)

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install

removing the wacom and synaptics input drivers and hope this will be

I have found that my work-laptop containing an intel chip also has
issues. It sometimes end up in low-graphics mode. But on that machine it
always works to just restart Xorg.
So something races during boot in relation to graphics. How is it
decided that low graphics-mode should be initiated?
