I didn't try any of the other fixes.
I am on an Asus UL80JT with integrated Geforce 310M and Core i3 running
Lucid x64. Stock kernels and everything. After that command and a
reboot, compiz acts

I got 195 when I switched the driver from 173 to 'latest version' in the

Would more log dumps and system info help, or is this problem well-defined
enough that it wouldn't help? I can provide info if it would help.
Also, since this trouble seems to be linked to Intel display drivers,
has anyone solved this problem by adding a cheap video card to their
system?
The problems I was chasing with the copy-fb patch on sandybridge were
unrelated in the end and even though it was shown that this fault lies
in the patch I have not been able to determine the problem in this case.

Thank you brian - I've tested your latest kernel and it indeed has fixed
the cursor issue. On my machine, the periodic freezing issue from your
last kernel is not observed. I've decided to remove the rc6 kernel and
run full time on this kernel.
