I also have a TravelMate 6592G and a recent Ubuntu 10.4 update cause
this issue. Upon boot, I get the Ubuntu splash screen briefly, then it

I am suffering from bug 472716 and was going to do the aport-collect as
requested but that recommended I create a new bug, so here it is.
The symptom is that my laptop desktop overlaps/overflows/spills on to my

It appears that MythTV was configured to use XvMC for HD video. After changing
to plain Xv, X does not crash.
Furthermore, it looks like I get "[drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid

I just checked this:
If I take out
ModulePath "/usr/lib/nvidia-current/xorg/"
from the Section "Files" in xorg.conf, I don't have GLX. If I put it in
again, everything works fine.

I confirm that chag's packages are fixing the bug with my NVidia+One
flatscreen and no Xinerama setup. However, the options for TwinView are
still in my xorg.conf, not sure what happens if I remove them.

I have this problem with a dual monitor setup. Happens for me with
VirtualBox and Frescobaldi as soon as the mouse goes into the app window
when it is started. When I look at Xorg.0.log.old immediately after
logging in on the X restart, I see the following near the end of the

My issue only freezes the mouse pointer (System is still stable and
responds to KB commands). I did remove Pulseaudio last night and
installed oss4, if anything the freeze came even quicker, I've since
gone back to pulseaudio.
For what it's worth, I leave my system running all night playing either
