So I haven't had any problems since switching to a non-OpenGL
screensaver and running v260.19.21. I can live with this. As long as
the screen locks, screensaver runs and compiz doesn't crash -- I'm
happy.

synaptics-dkms package since your issues seem hardware-dependent. In my
case (Asus Eee PC 1201N), the dkms driver works better than emulation
(no need to keep the fingers apart), and there is no jumpiness when
scrolling.

nvidia-* but still have not OpenGL support.
I did last installation by downloading the driver and executing it

Actually, carmaxx's bug is already reported in the thread. If you look
at comment #8, you will see the symptoms described. What he is
experiencing is the same bug, except now mutlitouch is working and the
jumping is affecting his scrolling. I don't know if these bugs are

Finally it worked. First I tried to uninstall nvidia drivers as Philip

Sorry about the delay, I have enough information here to be sure that
the problem is a WAIT_FOR_EVENT hang on framebuffer resize and am duping
it to the master bug accordingly. The fix is included in the
