It's just a warning, not an actual error. I could make update-
alternatives silent but I really prefer to keep the warnings on for
debugging.

Has anyone been able to get this to work on 10.04-1 x64? I had it
working in 32 mode, but now I can't seem to get it to work on the Sony
VAIO VPCL135FX. My Xorg.log shows:

Well managed to get it to crash over SSH, but doesn't look too useful to
me without ddeb's installed.

Off the top of my head we use XGrabServer in various places and if the
driver supports NPOT textures we use mipmapping. This list is obviously
incorrect as if these limitations really applied you could not use the
fglrx texture_from_pixmap implementation to actually write a compositor.

Does anyone know where we are at with this bug? It seems to be the one
that is affecting me, I am fully up-to-date using KUbuntu 10.10, and I
can't enable KWin. I have good graphics acceleration otherwise. I have
tried xorg-edgers and x-updates, and they don't help.

Hi Bryce,
I was running a Live install from the natty-desktop-i386.iso built on
20-Jan-2011. As Ubuntu was booting a dialog box appeared stating that my HW
was not able to support Unity and gave me the option of choosing the Classic
User session. I chose this option and Ubuntu came up.

This is a nice solution for this issue:

It would be great to have it by default.
