Just use gedit to open this file /var/log/Xorg.0.log and search for nvidia. I managed to uninstall the nouveau xorg drivers, and now I'm using vesa... but somehow nouveau is like a virus you can't get ride of. I blacklisted the module but it's being loaded anyway by other modules, so the nvidia

michael, you are right. Jockey is not showing the drivers as being in use, my fix doesn't try to do that. I just pointed to a workaround to be able to use nvidia drivers in systems that were not being able to load the driver at all, where jockey was failing 100% to enable the driver. A few hours
